I doubt this will have very much flip appeal initially or at all for that price. Look at the Bento Box S90V military, it is still available and only $35 more. I would consider the Military in S90V to be in higher demand than either of these models due to it popularity but due to the price point it isn't moving. That being said I could be completely wrong but at $225/ea. I don't see this being a fast mover like Para2 sprints and the cruwear militarys because you are almost at the upper limit of what the market will bear. I do think these will sell out when available the same day or by the end of the week they are released, just not in minutes.bdblue wrote:If they don't do some sort of pre-ordering then we will all be buying from flippers for $300+.
Tell me that up front so I can just go ahead and order the S30V version and save myself the agony.
Current :spyder: : Para2's Brown, Blue & Orange, Etched Spin, CF Caly3 ZDP189, Gayle Bradley, UKPK Orange G10, Manix2 M4, Sage 1, Caly 3.5 in Super Blue, Urban Orange G10
I wouldn't say the cruwear millie had much flip potential, at least right now, it's pretty available at around $190-194 on the bay, and when it is in stock, is usually 145ish.Ferris Wheels wrote:I doubt this will have very much flip appeal initially or at all for that price. You said that about the Cruwear Military, too. I had no trouble getting a couple of those at about $150 each. I don't expect there will be any need to buy from resellers on this, either, unless you are determined to sit on your hands until that's the only alternative.bdblue wrote:If they don't do some sort of pre-ordering then we will all be buying from flippers for $300+.

I think this might also potentially slow the sales of the S90V Manix2 XL as well given that they are dropping right into the midst of the holiday shopping season. Of course that could also make for some really exciting moments opening presents under the tree when someone opens one of those bad boys up!Evil D wrote:This Yo 2 is really the only knife on my immediate purchase list. I'm actually relieved it isn't coming until next year, since it's about to be the holiday season and all.

I am assuming from the previous posts that there will not be any pre-ordering for either the Manix or the Yo. I would love the chance to own either blade, but really looking forward to the Yojimbo. This knife never really hit my must have list until this past weekend I handled one at a gun show and it really felt impressive. I like the comp lock and the blade is of course wicked to behold. If I was not anticipating the CF/S90V I would have scooped up the G10/S30V version. (I grabbed the Vallotton instead and have no regrets). Anyway, I am going to try to stash a little extra funds to make sure I can hop on this when they are released, if anyone has any updated information about release dates or how they plan to release (pre-order, one release of the entire order, or in batches as they arrive from the factory)?

I got my Yo2 from Cutlery Shoppe for just over $100. G10 and S30V. I continue to appreciate the design and quality of manufacture. I like the smooth upper back although my hand size / configuration is such that when I place my thumb securely on the back, my index finger wants to shift forward past the grip and onto/near touching the sharpened edge. Not good if committed to a thrust with respect to potential self injury on impact with the target.
But that's more my hand geometery as opposed to the knife's design in this area :D
Extremely sharp and easy to maintain with a ceramic.
Solid utility knife / EDC in my book.
Reverse grip is very, very fast and secure and again a solid thruster for body/rib shots (lethal intent) and outer upper thigh (mobility disruption).
Folks have often complained about the Buck 110's clip point being "fragile" but I never lost a tip on those that I've owned or still own / carry now and then.
The Yo2 features a nicely ground tip / point and if not used outside of its limits - like the Buck - it should do just fine for many years.
