I think it's the fact that the clip is situated for RH carry only. I did play with the Para one time and found I could open and close it with my left hand with no problem but that was in a controlled environment at a store. I use my LH Millie a lot for work and it can get pretty darn cold and with that what you get are cold cuts and sore fingers. Makes it downright uncomfortable. Add to that a pair of work gloves and you have a situation where it can be awkward to open a knife. That is why the LH Millie is my absolute favourite knife. Not just for it's cutting abilities but because in an uncontrolled environment the clip does help to open the knife with the left hand.

This thread is making me want to give the para another chance. I miss owning a knife with the compression lock. It's such a fun knife to open and close. Might try modding the handle like I did on my last one. I sanded down the ridge that supports the pinky finger to give my hand enough room to fit without using the choil.
