I'm carrying the Sage 6 with the button release compression lock and the S90 blade steel. It's a very nice piece.

Sage 6, WHO'S EXCITED
Re: Sage 6, WHO'S EXCITED
Now that is more to my liking, just what dps edge profile do you have this honed? I am hoping to be able to acquire one of these for my collection. Interested to know what angle profile you have honed your S90V, I have found it a bit different from my S110V and my REX121... least more so than I was expecting.

Question for those who have gotten their Sage 6 -
How centered is the lock bar when open on your example? Compared to a posted pic here and my Smock, the Sage seems very close to the edge of the blade and the button is obviously less proud when open.
My example on top

Smock on the left

Wondering if this a design decision or within tolerance. Thanks

I have one arriving soon

Has anyone tried a reverse hammer grip?
Re: Sage 6, WHO'S EXCITED
My Sage 6 in S90V came today. I didn't want to risk missing the sprint run from one of the big retailers, so I bought it directly from the Spyderco online store at MSRP.
Impressions: It feels good in the hand. A little heavy at 3.02 oz, which increased to 3.03 oz. when I swapped in a deep-carry titanium clip. The carbon-fiber scales have excellent grip. Blade centering is perfect. Action is smooth. I can easily open and close it with one hand both left and right handed, whereas the Sage 5 compression lock is tough to close left-handed. I am unable to reliably flip it open while holding the bottom, something can do on my Sage 5 and Para 3 models.
I was concerned about the button lock accidentally getting pressed while gripping it. Any way I hold the knife I'm not pushing on the button, as you can see in the photos.

My spring bends out the full spring thickness, plus another half thickness.destroid wrote: ↑Wed May 21, 2025 3:31 amQuestion for those who have gotten their Sage 6 -

Re: Sage 6, WHO'S EXCITED
Here are photos with a the blade tip out the pinky end of my hand. One photo is blade up and the other is blade down.
Blade down, I am not touching the button.
Blade up, the pad under my pinky finger can touch the button (in the photo it's just off), but it's not pushing hard enough to move the button. Even trying to push it with this grip, I can't move it.
Like Sal said, it's not a problem. I have not found a grip in which I unintentionally push in the button. It requires a finger or thumb.
