Wow!!! JDW that is an amazing gesture. As a dog lover I am thrilled about the donation. The Doberman poking her head into the picture in the Christmas card is a rescue dog. Also, JD is certainly a valuable member here on the forum. Very generous of you to offer a knife. You went above and beyond. Thank you. :)

Well, this sort of got forgotten about and I apologize for that. I wanted to update this thread and share some thanks.
I want to thank all who participated in this thread, all who participate on this forum, the Spydercrew and especially Xplorer.
I have moved around a lot in my life and one thing I have learned is that it is the people that make a place what it is. It doesn't matter if it is the community you live in, the people you work with, your classmates or the forum you visit online. The place is a product of the people there. This forum is usually a pretty great place on an internet that isn't always so nice. For that reason I thank all of you for coming here and participating and for bringing your best when you do.
Sorry for the delay updating this but JDW did receive his knife a while ago and it came out great. Chad sent me some pics of it which I will share below and he also generously sent me a gift as well. JDW's knife looks stunning and I could not be happier with mine.
Stabilized cork oak and C-tek. The way the two scale materials are mated together is very cool and, I imagine, a time consuming process.
Black and green polished micarta with copper pins and a very, very well ground blade in 52100. The edge is thin, the tip is acute, the plunge lines are gorgeous, the grinds are even and the handle is comfy. Green is my favorite color and I like copper accents so aesthetically this knife is perfect. This guy is gonna do big things and is a skilled craftsman. Thanks again buddy! Solid Kydex work too!
I have had this for months now and have used it extensively. Went camping this weekend and had it around my neck the entire time.
