Thanks! I've been checking their site all day to see if they had a preorder up yet but for some reason it didn't show up with the way I was searching. I just pre-ordered and used my $50 reward credit. (from spending too much on knives this year!)
Right on freediver, that's almost half off, that's got to feel real good. I am looking forward to seeing these in the wild and hearing every ones opinions.

I am really struggling with this...I really am on the fence still between this or the Sage 5. I'm going to go with the Sage 5 as of right now, the handle just looks better for larger hands and I'm really not sure how I feel about the giant lanyard tube. Can't wait for these to drop to see more pics and in hand pics.

I'm on the other side of the fence, think I'd prefer this to my Sage 5.

Is the stop pin floating or pinned? Can the knife be taken apart by the owner.
One post said it was floating and another said it was pinned.

I suppose we don't actually know yet, but 99.99% chance its a floating pin, sandwiched between the liners. I'd be shocked if it was pinned/riveted.

Is the floating pin on other models held in place by the scales or the liners? if you remove the scales does the pin still stay in place as intended?

If so, the question must be asked why not hide it with the scales, like the Sage 5? (Sorry for yet another Sage 5 comparison).

I went ahead and did my first pre-order. Probably way down on the list.

I've read a lot of negative comments in this, especially on facebook.
Having looked at the pictures long and hard I've come to the conclusion that I like it, and I want one.
What do you guys think are the chances of getting this in digicam livery at some point? Continuing on the Military and Paramilitary 2 traditions.
I would want one of those. Satin blade, digicam scales.

I think this knife will be great, not sure why people are against it. My only gripe would be the tip up clip location being seemingly further from the butt. Pretty certain we'll see plenty of flavors eventually.

When the PM2 was first announced in the catalog were the reactions mostly negative or positive from Paramilitary 1 owners? I'm just talking initial thoughts from seeing the picture. Obviously the PM2 is very popular just wondering if it's initial first glimpse brought about gripes like im seeing with the PM3.

As a PM2 devotee, I'm certainly intrigued that a scaled-down version is about to drop. But, as I said earlier, now that I have a Sage5 (comparable to the Para 3, except for the leaf-shaped blade I prefer), I think I'll wait for a non-S30V Para 3, especially now that the K390 Police4 has been announced. It tops the list of where my money goes next.

I like it. It looks great. Great size. From what I've learned, Facebook is where all the negative jerks hang out. I got off that group very fast. Highly unfriendly - bad attitudes. Not sure why.
This is a smaller knife. If you're set on a 3.5" blade, it's not for you. Same great features, but in the size range of people like me. It looks exactly what it should look like, being a smaller Para. Not sure why there'd be any negativity about it. I only hope it has a strong detent.

I'm more exited for the PM3 than any knife in a while. It'll be nice to have a delica size knife with G10 and a compression lock. I am definitely going to pass on the s30v model though, and wait for something like a MAXAMET PM3 sprint.

I am pretty excited for the PM3 too. I've been carrying my WoldSpyder almost daily for the past few months in preparation for this model. I really like the WolfSpyder, but a FFG blade and larger (and an ambidextrous) Round Hole would be most welcome features. I've got a gut feeling the PM3 is going to be a rockstar in very short order.

I'm stoked about the PM3.
Anyway, I've seen a lot of conjecture about the knife itself, but what's the prospective date for release? I know the release pic showed "December 2016" but is the PM3 going to be out by then?

I have changed my mind; I am only gonna get the inevitable sprints that are undoubtably going to come. Will collect all of them only. No interest in an s30v plain Jane version just to have one.

I was gonna do the same but I've been kind of anxious for this one. Not knowing how long it might be until they do a sprint run I'll test drive the base model for now and then upgrade sometime down the road.

I hope Spyderco is looking at this thread and expediting some sort of variant (M4 FTW!

, but I'm going to pick this up as soon as it drops regardless. Being a brand new platform there are a lot of unknowns that I'm more interested in than color or steel.
