Brother, this is one that will be worth taking the plunge for- honestly the wait for this is far better than the cost of it later down the road, or a S90V/BG42 on the seconds market( says me the prize idiot)

This is gonna be the one that you want to and are going to edc, and in CF- they are the lightest carry, for me just perfection- I was in for 2 on the first day and I cannot wait.

I hope you come to your senses(car=depreciation) KNIFE=APPRECIATION

Take it easy brother.

I didn't get an email from Knifeworks, just Paypal. However, when I log into my Knifeworks customer account it shows the preorder with an order number etc.

OK - I am on the fence with this one having bought 9 knives in LE runs within the last year of another knife brand.

Please tell me (bear in mind I am not as knowledgable as the rest of you on Spyderco Knives), why this Military model is better than the other ones on the market that I have with G-10 handles and S30V steel?

The ones I have are great knives, so what really sets this one apart? Is it the scales (Carbon fiber better than G-10)?...the blade steel (M390 is that much better than S30V?), Collectibility?

Honestly, I want one and have been looking at them for months since MCM told me about them coming up, so from those more knowledgable than I - What is it about this knife that really sets it apart?

I really want and value your opinions...and I agree with the post a few back about wanting a black vs silver clip.

Carbon fiber is generally considered to be more upscale, if not more functional than G10, and M390 is a much much better cutlery steel than S30V. It takes a better, more aggressive edge, (imo), and it holds it much better and longer than S30V, (empirical fact, not opinion). And it is still pretty easy to work with (sharpen).

Same thing that sets a Benchmade LE apart, exotic steel, different or special handle material, limited quantities and desirability.

So it is more of a "collector's" peice given those scales, that will increase in value if kept NIB, and the steel difference is indeed quite noticable in performance?

Yeah M390 is definitely a step up from S30v as far as I'm concerned. Scale material is better IMO just b/c it's awesomer/prettier and certainly doesn't give up any performance

Thanks for the replies so far - I will definitely keep considering this one.

M390 - It would have to be pretty good to beat S30v, as the Military models I have in S30V are razor sharp slicing tools.

I was gonna sit this one out and just get the blue para. But then I kept seeing the number(of available slots) go down, so what the heck, I put in my pre-order this morning(to me).

@ OBJ If you're not 100% sold, you can always find a used Millie in S30v for like 80 bucks and try it. Also can compare it you the M390 AFCK. Then imagine how much better it will be with Spyderco's heat treat, lol j/k. Shiny footprints :P.

I've been eyeing this one since the pre orders opened a few months ago.

I finally also put my order in this morning. I know I will kick myself later if I miss out on this combo...

In all honesty if I am on the fence about something i do not get it, having said that, I was on the fence re the CTS-XHP and two weeks ago that is no longer a regretfull decision to have eventually got one.

Having the BG42, all I can say is that getting it for just the CF is worth it, before jumping into M390- light, surly the best lock up I have on any production- is whack how light it is.

Honestly it will be in a league of S90V, with easier maintenance- what more could you ask for..??
I am in favour of the satin clip- I am going to order more satin clips from Spyderco Factory Store for my other lovelies.

If it bites you- get it, if not, wait for the seconds market after the actual Ankerson and posse reviews.

All the best with your decision - I was in for 2 in my mind before it was open on KW.

It was 133 before I pre-ordered. It's still 133 after I received my confirmation email.

I don't think they update it after every purchase, just daily. Or every other.

I have 3 Military models now of various configurations and like the knife's design and weight, I am just weighing the advantages of this one over the ones I currently have...and of course, you obviously know I'm an AFCK fan. ;) :D
