You bet I use it. No way am I leaving an expensive piece like that sitting in a drawer! I empathize with your predicament though, I had my 'mint' models too. During my trip to Golden the 'using' thing really hit home with me. While talking with the crew, I found that no one there is 'making collectibles'. They really want you to use the knives, and that way you really enjoy them most. I even intend to carry and use my WTC knife, one day of the year that is.

How I like my ATR? Very well, the handle is amazing. Very similar to the fixed temp. Kitchen duty is good, taking into account the rather 'straight design'. Other 'victims' were some boxes and envelopes. Nothing exciting. It is a thicker blade, slicing doesn't feel as fluent as the ZDP Caly jr. for example. Then again, this thing locks up solid. Feels very strong. The ergos are wonderful. And I spent a couple of hours resharpening the serrations. Not that they were dull, but I want to mate it to my Sharpmaker. My technique isn't that great I guess. S30V serrations usually require a lot of effort the first time, to 'set' the angle properly. Now a single serration slices paper about as cleanly as my VG10 Caly jr. The serrations may not look as 'sharp' but out of the box -and certainly now- function just as well as any other SE model I came across. Now it will be fun to see how long the edge will hold.

You have convinced me Mr Blonde. I'm gonna give the knife a ride on my Sharpmaker and use it. You are right, the knife is to beautiful to let it sit in a display collecting dust.

For the serrations, did you use the greys first, or only the whites?

Thanks..
