It’s a hole I came very close to falling into, Paul.
Many years ago I looked at high end actions with custom chambers, turning case necks to fit, high end barrels, etc. etc. and so glad I didn’t take the jump for a few reasons.

Cost aside and I’m fortunate enough to have access to mile plus ranges but I’m tipping I’d have spent most of my spare time pull hair out, testing loads, chasing ridiculous groupings, scrubbing barrels, never happy and never actually having fun hunting game in the field.

That’s one of the nicest stock I’ve ever seen on any .22, Dan.

The old 10/22’s were popular here before they outlawed semi autos. Cockies (farmers) can still own semi autos and I know a few that still have 10/22’s, Mini 14’s, Humpback Browning shoties etc. but yours is one pretty little rifle.

Thank you for the compliment Bloke . The stock is actually a bit longer compared to stocks Ruger uses on that model so comes to shoulder better . I bought around 1980 from my best friend’s Dad who was a gunsmith and dealer . I will post sometime the A5 16 gauge sometime. I stumbled on it at his shop in the mid 80’s , I like the older classic models because of the craftsmanship.

Here is a Sweet Sixteen my Dad gave to me in the late '60s.
Had a devil of a time finding a 3/4 inch sling for it.
Browning doesn't even have them. Finally located one at Andy's Leather.

I know nothing about guns but i like youre Rifle Dan! It must sound crazy for someone in the us but firing a gun is something i have on my bucketlist. Not that i really want one or want to need it but its a thing i think a man should have felt in his life.

Browning was Mormon and originally started out as a gunsmith in his father’s shop in Nauvoo, Illinois . One day he complained to his father about the design of a rifle and his father told him if he didn’t like it design a better one . He did at age 13 . John Browning was a genius in firearm design that still lives on today .

This isn't a "new" gun, but now it's a "completely different" gun.

It's a Ruger Speed-Six from the mid-70's. My dad bought it new, and I always thought it was a cool gun. But since the gun became mine, I changed my mind. I don't like it. It's not that it's unreliable or inaccurate. It will go bang no matter what, and with .38 Special I can drive tacks with it. Even with .357 it's accurate, but it's AWFUL to shoot. And it's not that I have fragile little hands--it's just not a fun gun.

The grips on the Speed-Six are not made for comfort or shootability, so if there's any chance of me liking the gun, it's going to involve new grips. There's a couple manufacturers who make grips for the Speed-Six, and I finally settled on this Hogue in gancalo alves. This evening I installed the grip. I liked the look of the original, but I think I also like the look of the new grip. I'm eager to take it out and see how it shoots with full-power loads.

I’m thinking about getting this pistol.
I hear great things about it. It has all the features I’m looking for in a pistol and I hear CZ has great reliability.

Does anyone have any input to help sway me one way or the other on this decision?

Any input would be appreciated.

Bergara BMR for me. Nice little gun but so far it doesn't shoot like some of my others

How do you like the takedown? I've been thinking about one of those for years. I have two 10/22's (one that is the 1976 commemorative and a much newer stainless one I bought in the early 2000s), plus a super nice .17 hm2 conversion with a volquartsen barrel that my daughter has appropriated.

Nice old finger groove! My friend just offered to send me a gorgeous finger groove that's had a little work done to it. Same guy just sold me everything I need to do a Kidd 10/22 build except the stock and barrel for a bargain price. I also have my 10/22 that I've customized with a Kidd ULW barrel and some other goodies. So I had to pass on the freebie 10/22 even though I'd like a finger groove. He's helped me so much I couldn't accept.

You guys are welcome to come on over to Rimfire Central if you ever want to talk 22s. I'm PWNolan over there. Look me up. There's several Spyderco fans over there too

It was a few months after I received that Anschutz before I even got to shoot it. I've been shooting ARA factory class matches and doing really well with my Tikka T1x. The Anschutz isn't legal for ARA factory class but it easily cleans the target we use. Which is basically why it's not legal. It's by far the best shooting sporters I have and one of most accurate rifles I have period. It's a laser with good ammo

On a side note I finally found a great club here in TX and just became a member. I'm looking forward to lots of range time there

Ya know, I would LOVE to have or, I've always wanted the Tika Tac model I can't actually recall the model number specifically but, it has a folding stock and 20" barrel in .308 - man, I really want one if those Tikka's. I hear the actions on the Tikka's are very nice and they shoot lights out.
Now, is the Tikka fairly close to Anschutz?
I would love to have one of those as well or a Surgeon Scalpel

Yes! The T1x shoots way better than it should. Most ARA factory class shooters are shooting some version of a CZ. The Tikka is blowing the doors off a lot of CZs. I went to a match a couple hours south of here. The match director says..."what rifle are you shooting?" "Let me guess, it's another CZ". He was surprised when I said I'm shooting a Tikka T1x. Then he was even more surprised when I shot the first 2500 (perfect 25 shot card) at their club. Next match I shot their he said he was thinking about buying a Tikka haha. The triggers in the T1x are pretty good too. Not an Anschutz trigger but very easy to lighten with a spring change very crisp with no creep etc

I wish I could help you , but I went home with CZ75 Omega . I wanted a steel model , but I have read several reviews and all seem to be positive. Since suppressor systems are illegal in my state it didn’t make sense to buy . MG2

Triggertech doesn't make one for the Tikkas yet but they're supposed to be working on it. I have a Jard on it now but it was no good until I reworked the sear. Now it's much improved. For most the factory trigger is really nice. I had mine down to about 20 oz. It passed on my safety tests but it was a little inconsistent. It was best at 24 oz. Others claim there's go lower with just a spring change but I'd bet they just don't realize (or care) that it's as inconsistent as it is. Timney makes a trigger for it but it's not really what I want and I don't see it as better than what I already have. I may upgrade to the Triggertech when they come out depending on the configuration.

You'd love the triggers on both my Anschutz BTW. Especially the 1416 AV. It's a two stage and the second stage is about 4 oz

Man, I'm gonna wind up getting a Tika. I would LOVE to have an Anschutz or Surgeon but, they are very pricey and I just don't shoot enough.
I want the Tika T3X Tac A1 in FDE & Black w/ the 20" barrel in .308

Hate to admit but I'm a low budget scope guy. I have several friends who are high end scope guys and they're awesome but out of my league at the moment. They also have way more money than I do and can afford Nightforce etc.

The scope on the rifle pictured above is a Athlon Helos BTR 6-24X. The scope on the rifle now is a Bushnell 4500 Elite 8-32X

I have a Arken SH-4 6-24 that's fantastic for the price. I think it's going on the Kidd 10/22 ELR build I'm going to do. Next Arken I buy will probably be the Arken EP5. It'll have to be for another ELR build because I don't like huge scopes with christmas tree reticles for anything else but PRS style matches

I've got a whole bunch of other scopes. A few lower end Vortex models. One of my favorites is the Diamondback HP 4-16X. I put that on the Bergara BMR I just bought and it's really nice for what I paid for it. $199 is a great deal

Otherwise my all time favorite budget scopes are the Japanese made Weaver Classic V series. I have five 6-24X on various rifles and one 4-16X on my CZ 452 American. There another great bang for the buck scope and not so big that they look like the Hubble mounted on top of a 22 sporter rifle

You want a nice 22 trainer look at the Bergara B-14R. Even better look at Vudoo. I'll have one of each at some point soon. I make single shot adapters for all these rifles and having the rifles they eventually pay for themselves. I'll probably have to sell off a lot of my knives to buy the Vudoo but no big deal
