yeah... so much for being responsible and content. i really just want to try a tool steel, i've always wanted a stonewashed manix, and since it's my favorite model, i had to have such an important version of it.

It’s brass. It’s been sitting in my safe for 2-3 years now. It should look even better once it gets a patina. I have had a copper one in my Cruwear Manix for a while now and it is dark brown.

One will be a user and the other will be... maybe another user. I'm not a "collector" who just leaves the knife in a box in a drawer. If after I get familiar with the knife it doesn't dazzle me, I'll trade the "spare" for something that does.
Several years ago I got rid of my only other heavyweight Manix, the REX45. I regretted the hasty move. I suppose we've all gotten rid of things that we now wish we held on to.

I regret getting rid of a REC Manix (avacodo) but the prices people were willing to pay for it were crazy. Just got an in-stock notification from BladeHQ, but when I went to the site it was out of stock. Their notification system is buggy...

I think some of these retailers are only putting handfulls up at a time, or playing some games with the stock. I guess to spread drops out to allow people multiple chances to get one if they aren't able to get online the first time? That's my guess anyways.

I think that's likely with some of the bigger shops. They've been dribbling out in small chunks instead of all at once. For what it's worth REC posted on their Facebook page that they did not get their "full" order of Manix knifes. They were debating on waiting until they had more to release or to sell what they had.
It sounds like they made so many, distributed them. Not sure if they will make more to give out for a second round or not. I would love to know how many they are making overall.

Sprint Runs are supposed to be 1 & done. Meaning, however many are manufactured for the run is it. Whether distributors dribble them out or drop their allotment at once, whatever was made, that's it. Distributor exclusives kinda follow same suit but they reserve the right to make a 2nd or 3rd run. There were reports that Spyderco was asking dealers to place larger orders for Exclusives. So I would speculate that this Sprint is also a bigger run.
