Probably because the original made in USA version has been discontinued for a while now. oh man, I remember the skyline...
Love the 3V SRK's. Though the SK5 versions are hard to beat for the $$ value, I like how these come uncoated, with crisper grind lines, and noticeably improved edge retention & corrosion resistance.
Got a second OD Green coming any day now. They were just on sale for $90.

they had 3V compacts for something silly like $50-60 at one point. The SK5's are solid too though and only $20-25 at chicago knife works. I stripped and convexed one and it keeps up with Moras carving wood now.
