I bring you…
The Tactical Leg Warmer!
I was thinking exactly along these lines for a tactical sock but found these leg warmer/protection for cyclists
These will work well with your tactical flip flops

you can do the same thing by taking two of the same socks, one inside the other and some sewing and cutting to create the pocket and the stretch will be the same. The only down side is it takes two pair to make one.
Just to add. You can find some elastic fabric, so you don't need to look for two or four of the same socks. You also need a coverstitch
https://www.craftyhangouts.com/best-cov ... h-machine/ to make the same even stitches as on the photo. And same sewing skill as well.

Everyone here know I can’t be trusted with a sewing machine . I really like the idea . 0002

This is stating the obvious, but then, stating the obvious is something I do, so here goes:
An over-the-calf design like the ^ above, whether sock or leg warmer, would resist falling down much better than an ankle- or shin-length sock that depends on annular snugness alone to stay up.
If I really were looking for discrete carry on the lower leg, I'd probably get a leg warmer like the above (muted color), and then wear a regular sock at the bottom.
For those of you who don't sew, may I submit another obvious observation: Sewing stretchy fabric with lots of elastic in it, is h3ll. It can be done by the home sewer, but getting it to look professional is tricky.

Agree with your Mr. Obvious thoughts . My take is this type of set up is great if wearing shorts, tutus or kilts but how practical would it be for long pants to access if handle is close to the knee ?

That's actually pretty cool, in an over-the-top, tactical-geek way. I like it.
Looks like you can cinch it down above the calf to keep it in position.
But this will require a fashion revolution (de-evolution?):

Here's a great stealth option for those of you who want to avoid notice that you're packing a knife in your socks:
With those, no one is going to notice a knife. We can call them the "Hey, look over here socks."

Having vertical flexible plastic ribs could prevent sag in shorter socks but then you might as well have an ankle sheath system.

Dear honorable members of MNOSD,
I hereby respectfully request to join your esteemed Order.
I know I have a way to go to expand my collection, but I submit my humble sock collection for your review. Sorry for the all knives in the way.

I eagerly await the decision of the Order.

The sock to flashlight ratio seems to be high… don’t know the significance of this fact, but it remains a quantifiable observation. Could make your knives more of a fire hazard? Do we have a fireman’s recommendation to sock/flashlight safety?

I will work diligently on improving may ratios over the coming year. After that, I might slack.

Welcome to our Noble Order, #0040!
It can take some time to improve your knife/sock ratio if they are all going to be Darn Tough.
It's interesting that I have not yet encountered the welcoming team...maybe it's due to the Creature?
