if knifejoker did another run of the 20cv m2lw, i'm guessing it would have screws instead of pins because that's how spyderco is making them now.
I didn't say what I meant, sorry. Try again:
What do you think the chances are, of Spyderco reissuing steels that were in previous pinned Manix LWs...in new screwed Manix bodies? What are the chances we'll ever see, for example, a screw construction LW manix in 20cv again? I'm trying to figure out whether to wait and hope for previous steels in new bodies, or to buy pinned on the used market.
I'm guessing the answer is: the past is the past, if you want a certain disco'd steel in a M-LW, better get one on the used market because chances of that steel coming around again in screw construction are slim. But...I'm not sure. What do you think?
yeah, i was trying to say i don't think they'll do it just to do it, but that future runs would have screws, even if they were runs of knives that were previously pinned. i think they'd have to be requested again by the exclusive dealers though.
if you want a stainless, you shouldn't need to worry too much about pins. i've seen minor issues with my xhp, but i was able to deal with it and haven't had any since. screws give me the peace of mind that i can take it apart, but i likely wouldn't unless i had to for corrosion i couldn't reach or to change out the ball cage for metal just for fun.

That's awesome news LB! Of course, they will use a Ladybug emblem next to Eric's maker's mark. This Manix will probably go faster than the Triple B 15V. Can't wait for this collab! Congrats!

i can't wait for my magnacut m2lw salt!
Did I see on another thread you are getting a prototype?
definitely not, but i wouldn't say no.
Ooop's my bad

Maybe I will look for the thread I was thinking of to see why I was thinking that. Not trying to start any drama here lol. I would love to see a magnacut m2

Personally, the 5 pinned M2 LWs I've had have been great. If I wanted a version of that model and it was pinned I certainly wouldn't wait around for one with screw construction. I saw someone mention the other day that they got a model with screw construction and the action was great etc. All of my M2 LWs with pinned construction have been great too. I appreciate that they've gone to screw construction but I won't be trading in any of my pinned versions
True. So far I've stuck to corrosion-resistant steels in the Manix2 and have had zero problems with pinned construction.
