The 8cr I have used really disappoints for edge holding. One of my Wustof or Henkel knives is 8cr.

I'm actually excited to see how this lands price wise. I really love the design.

The high end Wilson's are not selling well because of the high cost. The quality is there, as are the materials. The design is very good, but the number of people that can and will spend that much of a fixed blade knife is a small number. In discussing this with Phil, we decided to try the alternative, which is China made...

Thought as much. I was a big fan of the leather sheath that came with my swept point Moran, but these days I'm more partial to kydex or similar plastics.

Will make for a nice general purpose knife with a great design.

I think a lot of people will get a lot of use out of it.

My old tenacious is awesome. I never noticed the edge being bad. I think it's a great idea for this affordable fixed blade.

I'm actually super excited for this knife and can see myself owning a couple and really beating on them! I'd prefer kydex.

I'll wait to see be whether or not this steel downgrade, will compromise the slicing design configuration of a premium Phil Wilson Bow River.

Here's an original. He's also made them with drop points, but iirc others have stated the proto was trailing.

Phil's website is: http://www.seamountknifeworks.com

After recently purchasing a Sprig, this is the knife I am most excited about.. His designs are absolutely awesome and extremely functional.

Great looking knife, but I wish Spyderco would at least consider making it in BD1.

If this comes out anytime soon I would be really happy.. I am so close to pulling the trigger on the Southfork and the Bow River would suit my needs just fine while saving me some $$...
