Bento box shop just responded to me and said that there is no diamond pattern. I know some will be disappointed by this but I'm glad to hear it. I wasn't really a fan of the diamond pattern on my Manix.

The diamond pattern didn't really bother me, at least that dark grey shouldn't show dirt as easily,

Thanks! I just saw that on their FB page a short while ago, as well. It's nice they're responding so quickly on there.

If I could only choose one between dark gray G10 or a diamond pattern I would definitely choose the dark gray G10. Not a fan of the lighter gray color, so dark gray will be awesome!

This is really disappointing for me on multiple levels. I really like the light gray as well as the diamond cut pattern.

I was hoping for the diamond pattern too...

I for one am more than happy with dark gray without a diamond pattern! :D

I just didn't want the diamond pattern. I would have been happy with the light grey again but I'm more interested in the dark grey. I prefer new colours of g10 than repeating old ones. All good, just different :)

BBS doesn't know for sure either way and are just guessing. They haven't seen anything. Spyderco says they will have diamond pattern... so I'm betting that they will have it.

Edit: Looks like descriptions have been changed to "fine checkered texture". So, no more diamond pattern. I'm guessing the "delay" was related to a diamond G10 sourcing issue and then they just decided to use the regular G10... and end the delay.

It was probably just a misunderstanding and has been standard g10 this whole time. I doubt Bento box Shop was guessing. They most likely go with the information they are provided. Just like everyone else.

These should be available from a number of the usual dealers. I noticed Knifeworks doesn't have their pre-order up yet. The dealer that let me know about this doesn't do pre-orders. They weren't sure how many they would get but said they would be available next week. I also put an early pre-order in with KnifeCenter and emailed them to find out if my order would be filled. This was the response I got today:

Hello,

Unfortunately, we can make no guarantees as it is a Sprint Run. We are hopeful that we will be able to fill all orders.

Not a happy camper that they couldn't tell me if my order would be filled. One would think a business wouldn't take more pre-orders than they can fill. My pre-order was done on Sept 21st. Like others, I'll be looking a different dealers to make sure I get one....or two

KW's had a pre-order up for a very short time, like less than a day, I managed to get in on that one, also got an early one in at KC.
