Sorry Kristi, I can't satisfy your curiosity. I'm a frugal forumite, as long as it's not a further foliage green handle I accept all ;)

I agree with Tony that it will not be a very high priced model, but is it usually a new model? That's why I guessed Sage RIL. Another new model is the little brother to the Tenacious (forgot the name), so speculation about the Tenacious might be better aimed at its sibling with the upgraded Chinese steel Sal talked about.

Low priced model? Really..............

Low priced model?

Really?

Why not sell a couple and ask for a really cool, special model.
A forum knife should be special.
If its affordable, that's great.
But would hope for a non FRN, Seki or Golden knife.
(FRN ZDP Stretch would work, but something more special than writing on the blade would be a huge plus)

Tons of inexpensive blades on the market, and Spyderco probably already has 50 model's under $50.00.

I say keep it within reason, but this is no time to cheap out.

It could be the crown jewel of your Spyderco collection.
One you will be proud to own & carry. Rather than, this Forum knife was only $39.95...............................

IMHO as current members, we could all have the coolest Spyderco ever made!
(Well it's possible anyway)...........

Just my 2 centavo's
& Sign me up for a plain blade.

I am not in as great a shape as I was in the past either.
But this one is worth stepping up for.

Maybe we could call it the depression model...... & charge 19.95?
Not too exiting sounding is it...............
I would e-bay a few if it was the most expensive model in the line up, but could not get too exited if it were a lower end model.
Now I sound like a snob? I'm not. Just see an opportunity to end up with a very special blade. :)

I'd pay full retail for a forum model Leafstorm using a limited batch of G11.
More might sell if some percent of profit went towards saving the environment.

I'm actually hoping the Forum Knife 2009 is G10. Bolsters would be nice too.
Large Persian? I know, now I'm really dreaming. The tension is unbearable! :p

Low priced?

Low priced model you say?

What would be better than striking two in one, I remember Sal mentioning they were considering a sprint of this little gem.

a sprint run AND a forum knife; nkp-friendly, cool Phantom lock, and an all time classic small :spyder: ...

If a Meercat is a go , that would be an awesome surprise . I would be interested in just about any knife at this point , but a vintage sprint run is very special . MG2

I think the Meercat is a great idea. My only suggestion is that is be the Reversed S blade.

We're working on something. The goal is to have a 2009 Forum Knife, but we'll do things a little differently this year.

I need some time, Sal and I are both traveling this month, but as soon as we have some things figured out, I'll post.

Just wanted you all to be aware.

And no, no details yet. ;)

Kristi
GREAT!!

Now for the down side, I got laid off yesterday. :( :(

Oh well I guess I'll have to see what I can do.

Tazkristi, are you going to release any more information? Or was the intent of this thread to tease us all?

I think it was just a tease:

Not so much of a tease. Recently several members were discussing their desire for a Forum Knife (a frequent discussion). But it turned to the possibility of a group purchasing knives on their own and having them engraved as an "Unofficial" Forum Knife. I wanted you all to be aware of this, before anyone did that and couldn't back out of it.

;) Although, it is always a fun discussion to watch.

I am all for it.
Maybe a Poll would help if your undecided?

Make it nice, and they will sell out in a matter of days.

Bunch of writing on a standard lower end blade, and who knows?

If we do not want to wait till 2010, it should be a Golden made model, correct?

Just my 3....... :)

No poll is needed. We know what we're doing, just need to work out some details.

I'll post more when those are complete. As I mentioned though, Sal and I are both traveling, so it'll be at least a couple of weeks before I can give out details.

Thanks though!
