I'd like to also compliment the service from the SFO employees. Everytime I've ever dealt with them it's been a pleasure. They are fast, polite, efficient and knowledgeable.

Lynette, Rachel , thank you for your help and patience. Joe

I'm going to pick one of these up to commererate my son's birth(first child). Does anyone happen to know where I can get some custom handles made? In the Dallas/Ft. Worth area?

Thanks,

David,
My order was placed over the phone and I was given a confirmation # over the phone and nothing via e-mail. My guess is you'll do fine.

I'll echo what Joe said, the folks I talked to on Wednesday were great. Thanks to Jim and the others at the SFO. :)

Ok i got my mules yesterday, contacted someone to install a handle and make a sheath for me. Tonight i used the edge pro on one of them. I started with 120 and went up to 3000 polish tape and ended with a strop. I have to say it is not to bad to sharpen and it took a razor sharp mirror polished edge! I cannot wait to get the handles installed and spend some time carrying it!

Mine should be here soon... Glad they sent me the tracking number.

From USPS tracking site:
"Your item cleared customs in JAPAN at 11:25 AM on October 29, 2008. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later."

:D :D :D :D :D :D

edit: They were at home when I got there last night! (One for me and one for a friend.) Thank you to Spyderco for labelling them as "cutting tools", as this probably made it easier to pass through customs than "knives". They're getting more strict about knife ownership over here.

I'll be honest, I really want one but don't want to spend the dough right now - even with the excellent offer of free shipping. I'll hope for some factory seconds to be offered online.

I took my 52100 Mule to work today and plan to leave it here to use. Most of the time the 52100 has sat in it the box. I need to use it.

And the "not the sharpest tool in the shed" award goes to the winning bidder...........

I am surprised they are still available here. Thought the 600 would sell out fast! Same goes for the T-mag.

Must be the economy........

Bad news for me

"Attempted Delivery Abroad, November 04, 2008, 8:02 am, GREAT BRITAIN"

Seems that I managed to miss the delivery person even though I was home all day. Bad luck for me.

Does anyone in the UK know what company USPS uses to deliver the packages over here and whether they will attempt to redelivery?

I'm not really sure if they came or not as there was no delivery attempt notice placed in my letter box?

Any one had similar issues and know whats going to happen?

Cheers James

This also allows people to make whatever arrangements are necessary on their end.

We had a great deal of feedback after the first run. We wanted to work out as many issues as possible.

Thank you every so much for the pre-warning, and any atempts to make it so that everyone has a chance at these.

I missed out last time, and I don't blame you, but I tend to be infrequent in my visits.

I got one this time, and if they hang around a bit, I may get another.

Thank you ever so much.

I received my Mule Team.

And I am very happy that I got one.....

This one does not seem to be moving as fast, so the winds willing, I may be able to acquire a second.

Again, thank you so much for this opportunity, this is a really cool project, and another expression of the flexibility and market sensitivity that Spyderco displays.

This sort of thing, really energizes your customer base, and your collectors.

Thank you.

Thanx much for the kind words Marion.

Many come and go into and out of the knife industry each year. Then there are those that have greater long term interest and find depth in knives. These are the "afi's" (aficianados).

The mule project is a way of sharing the depth in knives that is there for those that have interest. A small, but very knowledgeable group that speak "knife". One of the sources of passion in the knife world.

Like a few around here, you've been around for a long time. We always appreciate the opinions of the afi's.

Mine arrived the other day, just got the one, but probably should have gone
for two, maybe if there are any left will order one more!

The one I have is now in the hands of Mr Tom Krein for some g10 scales and
black liners.

I could have done the handle myself but my time/tools are limited and Tom does
such a nice job, plus he will bead blast the scales for better grip too.
Can't wait for it's return!
Like a fixed blade Calypso to me, the blade shape should be very handy I think!

Thanks again Sal and Team! great job!!

Fewer pieces going to Collector's Club + $30 larger pricetag = slower sales. Last I heard, there weren't many left, so the 2 piece limit stays in place.
I don't believe in safe queens, only in pre-need replacements.
