Thanks I like it but I also have the G10 Manbug coming tomorrow, have to see which replaces the standard VG10 on keys now...nothing expected today so I had to go to San Jose for my fix,a Camo satin Para 2 to cross the 4 standard versions off my list....waiting for a shot at a blue M-390, or orange cts-xhp....

:D I love a matched set.

Just got a Spyderco Ramco/Laguoile with a serrated blade to match the plain edge one I already had.

From a post back in 2003; I think.

Joyce's posting:

Denis Lemaire was an creative French Canadian cutlery designer, maker, and friend of Spyderco. In the early '90s Spyderco made a French-style Laguiole model which Denis had engineered and designed. He was adept at producing innovative concepts and was well-acquainted with French influenced cutlery designs. A folder named the AKMA was one of his inventions and is produced today by Florinox Cutlery of Thiers, France.

The Spyderco Laguiole debuted as a high-tech version of a time-honored design. It featured:

~ A front lock (developed by Al Mar and Harvey McBurnette), the first ever lock-back Laguiole
~ A handle of black Micarta with brass liners
~ Blade steel was G-2
~ The traditional Laguiole "bee" found its' appearance underwent a subtle, buggy make-over
~ Notably absent were the Spyderco round hole and a pocket clip
~ Notably present, Spyderco serrations
~ It came with a tooled leather belt sheath
~ Spyderco's French design was manufactured under the Ramco label in Seki City, Japan
The Laguiole was discontinued in 1995-1996 and the MSRP at that time was $119.95, the sheath $19.95.

Strange knife, a French design, Americanized with serrations and made in Japan....

The little Fly opener on those Ramco/Laguoile blades are very unique! Very interesting detail!

Nice score Liquid Cobra, I saw all of those crazy PM2's in that thread, and mostly crazy prices too! :p

So this is what just showed up today for me! Love this little blade! Feels very similar to a Delica in hand (good thing since I've been looking for a G10 Delica with no luck!). Handle is barely shorter, but usable cutting length is same. No jimping on this one. It is tooth pick pointy and tack sharp on the tip too! Don't have any other folders with blades like this so it's a welcome addition. Haven't cut anything with it yet but I have high hopes of potential for more detailed work. Dark green G10 is nice too.

Not a bad choice in my opinion, I like my 0566bw in Elmax.

I was just thinking the same thing, and yes it feels great, I've been wanting this one since....well....since I missed the boat on the release. What makes this one even more special to me is that it was offered to me by a fellow brother here on the forum which is a first for me and has helped me feel a little more connected to the fine group we have here. Oh, one more thing, this specimen is probably the best F&F on a PM I have seen yet, blade is perfectly centered with even grinds and the action is spot on, not too tight yet swings freely.
