Manix 2 S110v
Manix 2 S110v
Not actually new to the forum, been checking this forum daily for a couple years. Just haven't gotten around to posting anything yet. So first just wanted to say Hi, & say how much iv learned from everyone here. It's really helped me along my sharpening journey. Now to my question, iv wanted the manix s110v since it came out & seen it said in stock at BHQ, and ordered it on Friday. I received an order confirmation email the same day. Reading thru the forum & seen where someone else ordered from BHQ in October I believe he said & received order confirmation as well only to have his account credited back as it wasn't actually in stock. Was wondering if anyone knows if they do truly have them in stock, and if not any ideas on where I could find one? Really hoping my order goes thru, feel like a kid at Christmas....

Re: Manix 2 S110v
BladeHQ has real-time inventory, so if it says in stock they should have them. I just checked and they show that they currently have 12 so you should be good.
Hope you like the knife. I don't personally have one as I never could warm up to the lock. I'm waiting for the same blade steel/handle to come out for the Native.

Hey Holland, what is the white stuff setting on those slab bolsters? Is it some kind of in-slab heating system? I've never seen reinforcing steel or PT cables with white coating.Holland wrote:Welcome to the forums!

The failures people have had with this lock have me a little nervous, which is a shame because this knife has such promise.Spyder-fan wrote: Hope you like the knife. On my radar: 110V Military, Police 4 and some sweet Rex 45 Military action.

Read about some of these locks breaking. Something to do with oils or cleaning fluids breaking down the plastic.mattman wrote:I have as much or more faith in this lock as I do any other lock...HarleyXJGuy wrote:The failures people have had with this lock have me a little nervous, which is a shame because this knife has such promise.
Not trying to be negatice just repeating what I heard on the internet. Has to be true if it is on the webs right?

IIRC, It was a very aggressive solvent (acetone?) I hardly blame the knife for that...

Hmm this is good to know. you are saying regular oil would not hurt it?mattman wrote:I saw that too.HarleyXJGuy wrote:Read about some of these locks breaking. There we're a few people who said they had this issues, maybe they all worked around these harsh chemicals?
I really want this to be true because a light 110V Spydie would make me a happy panda.

Re: Manix 2 S110v
I highly doubt any normal oil would hurt it. Acetone is probably the most aggressive solvent most people have regular access to.
The only other "failures" regarding this lock that I recall are either over the top circumstances (the infamous test), or broken cage retainer posts that usually vet out to improper reassembly by the user.
I have a few Manii in my rotation with no problems whatsoever, but I am admittedly a casual user... I am particularly fond of the lightweight, though!

Re: Manix 2 S110v
Only failure I was worried about was the one caused by chemicals. Going to be a pipefitter when I retire and thought that might be an issue.
Think I will just stick with my Mille and Natives even though as usual I believe the internet has blown this out of proportion.
