Biggest Hopes for 2015

#1

Post by PayneTrain »

Now that we've all reminisced and said goodbye to 2014, what is everyone most excited to see from Spyderco in 2015? Models, sprints, steels, anything!

I'm looking forward to quite a bit. Maxamet and RWL-34, the new Stretch and the production Foundry, and I REALLY hope to see some blue weave carbon fiber make its way into my pocket this year. But I think what I'm most excited for is the expansion at Golden, so that everyone can finally get the PM2's and Manix 2 S110V's that they've been waiting for. And maybe it will get us closer to that M4 PM2 that everyone hungers for...

So folks, what are your biggest Spyderhopes for 2015?

A Manbug in carbon fiber linerless, and a Manbug in titanium. I really want the new Stretch. I love the color, the wider blade, ZDP, and it looks like it'll feel better in my hand.
- best wishes, Jazz.

I'd like to see the Higo going into production, it was my personal highlight of the A'dam Meet last march.
Laci Szabo's interpretation of the classic japanese higonokami with a titanium framelock.

For me it breaks down like this.

Most wanted known production 2015 release: PITS Folder
Most wanted known exclusive 2015 release: Blue M390 Para-Military 2 (hopefully in 2015)
Most wanted known sprint 2015 release: PPT

Most wanted suspected production 2015 release: I have no idea *edit- Ronin 2! Gives head a shake.
Most wanted suspected exclusive 2015 release: Hopefully a PM 2 this year (M4!)
Most wanted suspected sprint 2015 release: My fingers are crossed for the ATR

My biggest hopes for 2015?? Yeah you bet I have a few
I want the C-60 Ayoob, C-111 Captain, The Ulize, The Tusk, The Karahawk and the original Dodo all to return in Spyderedge.

My wants and desires are simple you see :D We had the Ayoob once upon a time in SE and we just need a few in Spyderedge with a G-10 handle. The Dodo also was once available in Spyderedge as well>> it's about time for it's return.

OH and while I'm Spyder-fantasizing let's get a new G-10 Harpy going as well. Meeting adjourned

I'm looking forward to a few of the upcoming releases, but I'm also hoping for some surprise sprints and exclusives to pop up when we least expect them.

Add the spyderhole and you're very close to the concept model that Sal and Eric showed last year.
Hopefully we'll see a prototype or a production sample in march in Amsterdam.

Hoping for one or more of the following variations:

1. Manix 2 LW S110V in some other color besides dark blue or black...would be ecstatic if the original clear finally happened

2. Superblue Kiwi 4

3. ZDP Kiwi 4

4. A Manix 2 LW S110V with DLC blade and black handle....though I don't know if I could handle such a BA knife.

Right now, I'm primed for the Stretch2.

But what I'd really like for 2015 is to hear Sal say that the long-ago proto'd Native Chief, now with a Powerlock, is in the sprint queue. Probably not going to happen, but hoping is part of the fun of this forum.

Im already very excited about the 4 upcoming mules and to try the new steels. Im planning on getting at least one of each as they come out. The talk about a new, smaller south fork has me pretty excited as well. Im still up in the air about possibly picking up one of the new elmax/Ti sprint runs but the new G-10 Stretch with zdp-189 is looking pretty good as well and would be my first stretch and zdp-189 steel.
I also share PayneTrain's opening sentiment of excitement for the new Golden facility expansion. I can only imagine it will help in production and really hope it will help in the amount of sprint runs we see.
And as far as my Biggest Hopes, id love to see a para or manix sprint or dealer exclusive in a new steel. I know I LOVE my K390 mule, wouldnt mind seeing that in either platform.
A long shot of a hope would be a new "Lefty" model. Something mid size (3-3.5" blade) capable of most EDC task's and with a "cool" steel would be AWESOME!!!!!!
In any case, cant wait to see what 2015 brings from Spyderco!!!

How could I forget?! Put this at the top of my list! I'm a fan of all-metal knives, and I've lusted after this one since I first learned about it. I just hope I can afford it if/when it comes out...or even catch one.
