Thanks! I played around with some in-camera-editing to add the starbursts. It came out much better than I expected.

That photo is good enough to cause me not so submit a picture this week...definitely a calendar worthy picture, and one of the best knife pictures I've ever seen easily. I need to go do some more research into photography so I can step up my game, as futile as the attempt may be. Staggeringly awesome photo.

Well, this is a really tough decision and in the end I couldn't really easily narrow it down past 4 entries and it was almost a coin toss to decide.

In the end I am going to give the nod to DougC-3 with this one. The colors are great on this one.

For the runner up this week I am going to go with GS and his Excali-burr photo. :)
I am biased towards the nature photos and had to go with these two in the end.

Thanks to Leeroy and LC for those other great photos and I could have just as easily picked those two as well.

Thanks to everybody for participating again becasue all the photos were great and lets keep this going. :D

Oldie but a goodie--my Salt 1 on the beach in Florida last May. This was going to be a calendar submission.

Thanks, it never occurred to me that I might win... and now the week is just getting started good and the judging is already getting tough! But keep them coming and I'll see if I'm up to the task :)

Re: Spyderco Photo of the Week Contest! NEED MORE ENTRIES!!

Post by DougC-3 »

We need some more photo entries, guys & gals! There's nothing wrong with the ones we've got, but we need to give them a little more competition. So let's see the calendar entries you didn't send and other photos you like but just haven't found an occasion to post. I'm sure there are some real jewels lurking on your hard drives. Just dust them off and post them -- they don't have to be recent, winter scenes, etc :D

Edit: Also, I don't think this contest needs to be limited to calendar type photos either -- knives at work or being worked on would be of interest as well !! Not just knives in calendar girl poses -- fabulous collection shots are also eligible :p
