Just went to work and was surprised at how hard it was to get my Dodo out of my pocket. It dawned, a little too late, that it had opened in my pocket and was busy creating a new "pocket". ****. I count my blessings though as I still have all body parts attached and intact.

Trousers!
My Dodo did that too when I was driving back from Toronto. Frequent stops along the way, and at one place stopped and reached in for some change. Couple miles down the road I could not figure out how I cut my hand. Next stop took out the Dodo to "play" and noticed it was conveniently already opened. Got me thinking it could happen again but it hasn't so...I continue to carry it. Hope they weren't new pants. Take Care!!!

Yep, tightening the pivot helps, the action can still be very smooth. But I've been mostly using a sheath like this one, and pretty much loving it. Keep it on my right hip, slightly behind, and it sits there perfectly...

Well, that one was pretty much unique, and it is at Spyderco with Sal now... The DoDo bird wasn't a stamp, had to be embossed slowly by hand.
I made a second one for myself already, but it is just plain brown with only my initials embossed instead of the bird, and it just doesn't look as good... EMail me if you want one, and I'll try to take some time out of my busy days (ha ha ha) to make more. Got new leather today, going to make a pile of Gunting sheaths, different colors, stamps, orientations, shapes, etc... Fun, fun, fun...

SAFETY NOTICE FOR TIP-UP KNIVES: Thou shalt not use a pocket in which a knife is clipped, tip-up, for any purpose except the carry of that knife. If you must carry other items in the pocket, do not reach past the knife, but remove the knife from the pocket, then reach into the pocket. In my experience, this is the only way to avoid being sliced by your own tip-up knife.
