How many spydies do you own?

I'm not exactly sure how many :spyder: I have now, but is well north of 46. I'll have to take a tally and get back. I know several here have very large collections (*cough* Paul *cough*). :)

...ahem...FURty...forty...too many for somebody like me in the short time since I started... but a lot of them were sort of exploratory purchases, and I plan to sell several at some time and then just buy really special stuff. I'd managed to suppress my collecting tendencies all my life until I ran into Spydercos... no stamps, coins, car tags, antique firearms, and no enameled wooden fishing lures (my big brother helped with that when he turned over his boat and lost my tacklebox, lol)...well there is that hot sauce bottle collection... and the Disney coffee mugs and French Market mugs... But something sort of snapped after I got my second Spyderco :spyder: :eek: :spyder:

All my knives are users. I have 19 Spydies currently with 13 folders and 6 fixed blades. I thin the herd when I have more than I can enjoy. I try to maintain some sanity to my obsession but it isn't easy. I recently liquidated some that weren't being used but I will be up to thirty again in no time.

I have only been into this Spydie thing for a little while but this is my idea on it also. User or it goes away, well in theory. So far I like them all and have no plans on selling any of them.

Currently on 4 Spydercos. My beloved Millie and little brother and as soon as my SM gets here the test mule for scary sharp, the Dragonfly 2 SB. Can not forget the mystery knife that I bought many years ago and has not been identified yet. (Delica with SS scales maybe?) Last but not least I have the ever popular Para 2 CTS-204P on its way in the mail.

Expect the collection to be at 6 or 8 by the new year if Christmas goes well. :) Domino, one of the FRN clan in ZDP-189 are on the list and my wife likes to go rogue so you never know.

My 5 year old decided it would be cool to count my spydies today.. out loud.. in front of my wife. It wasn't news to her, but when he broke 100 and kept going, it still brought me a look over top of her magazine.

I think I'm in the 60ish range, but I haven't bought any since the two last weekend. There's a Techno in the works and I'm contemplating a Bradley Air for my next purchase, but you never know what else might turn up. :)

And you have a well-educated wife, she does not bit you in front of your son :p

Now back to topic ... what was it? Yeah, I remember ... let me say, I do have some more than the average here (pssst, wife isn't at home for the moment, but even in this situation I shy at a concrete number ... our sons are adult, therefore I have no protection :rolleyes: ).

Very smart. One of my biggest mistakes that I let my son to learn geography. Now he lives two states away.

It was a mistake to let my smart boy count them out loud, but my wife knows the real total. The best part about yesterday was when he said "daddy I think you have an awesome group of knives." "I really like the red ones" So I let him carry my Emerson waved delica trainer for the rest of the afternoon. So he could "be like daddy"

I think last I counted I was at 83, and luckily for me my wife knows... and it doesn't bother her.
