Of current production offerings, Titanium-Damascus Delica. I know you don't like the blade contrast on the Caly 3 sprint, but the contrast is entirely different with a pure titanium handle, and the look suits the Delica more IMO. I didn't like it when I first saw it, but after looking at it for a few months it REALLY grew on me.

Check out the Bradley Air! It seems right up your alley.

Wow, your response is really amazing.

And my what a bunch of marvellous good looking knifes there is out there.
I've looked at all of your suggestions and it really helped me a lot to conclude what I want in the looks of a knife.
Obviously I prefer knifes with no visible studs or screws in the handle. If there has to be some, less is more.
I know that the things with a immediate stunning look often grew to much "in your face" over time there a more modest look grew on you instead.

Once again, you have all helped me very much. Thank you for that.

Besides the already-mentioned Michael Walker in CF/ZDP (discontinued but wonderful if you can find it) and Bradley Air, you might also consider the Centofante Memory. Very nice-looking and shouldn't be too heavy.

Several of the models have also been issued as Nishijin glass-fiber sprint runs, which I find very appealing - consider the small Chinese Lum. There was also a Nishijin/ZDP-189 Dragonfly which you should be able to find, and the Dragonfly is truly a wonderful "little big knife". Smaller but unique, there is also a blue Nishijin Cricket.

Clip vs no clip is a vital question you must answer.

The Kiwi 4 is striking and highly functional. It would definitely generate conversation.

You could source wood or other decorative scales...

I think the Micheal Walker has some studs/screws that is too much visible. The Centofante is quite nice but maybe not exactly my type. The Cricket another of my old favourites that's still on the list.

Hi Chris,

Well, the thing is that I prefer to use my folders without the clip. But then again, I don't use any of them as my EDC - and I think that makes a difference.
I think the clip is a must if I am to carry the folder all, and every, day. I prefer Tip up to tip down, but that's not a big issue.

You might consider looking for one of the older, locking Kiwis. Weighs around 50 grams, no clip, several production versions (amber jigged bone, smooth red bone, pearl and abalone, and CF) plus all kinds of custom scaled ones.

Here's a couple shots of the carbon fiber one...

I think the semi-recent Michael Walker Carbon Fiber ZDP sprint fits the bill.

The Caly Jr. is also a great option if you can find one.

You guys are fantastic!
I showed my wife this thread to show her what a great forum this is, and how helpful you are.
She was surprisingly reserved though, but it took little time to find out why.
I wonder what Santa will bring me this Christmas. :-)

Sounds like your wife is a keeper :-).

After Christmas everyone will be posting up pics of their new knives. Since everyone around me thinks I already have too many knives (and they may be right!) I'll have to buy new ones for myself :).

Try and talk Deacon into putting up some of his Kopas if you want to see beautiful knives.

For knives still in production how about a Dice with some nice Desert Ironwood scale action.
On my radar: 110V Military, Police 4 and some sweet Rex 45 Military action.

Newest Spydies: S90v Ti Military, Pacific Salt and a special Kiwi.

Very nice! What a great gift.
Excellent choice of blade, and unique personalized touch.

I definantly recomend the hungarian folder, it is one of my favorite knives. As far as the cf and damascus caly, in my opinion it is the best looking spydy ever made.

But SpydyLover is right about the Hungarian Folder. That is a truly magnificent knife, but it's already "taken" in the family since we bought it to my brother in law last summer. :)
I think that we have a nice spread of :spyder:'s in our crew: Harpy, Blue Lava, Hungarian, Blue CF Dominio, some Ladybugs and a Caly3. :D
Now I only "need" a Resque for the car. But then again, need is relative.
