Thanks for all the kind words from my "new" friends!

The Spyderco I was carrying that day was the FIRST Spydie I ever owned...a Stainless Endura with a half-and half blade. Unfortunately, it was lost when I swam free of the boat. The crew gave me another one engraved with "I survived because of this Knife"....really cool. (it is a total gun-safe resident now)

I own several now....Police, P-Salt, Bug, Catcher-man, several Enduras, etc...
I always include mention at my seminars.

Hey rob, thanks for sharing your story. I am on the water fishing everyday in a kayak and I'm a huge advocate of the salt knives and have one on me at all times. I have had numerous close calls like getting hung on a breaking outer reef and having only a few seconds to cut loose before I was taken out. If you spend enough time on the ocean, situations will inevitably come about where you need a knife and you need it NOW. I spend a lot of time in big surf on boats and surfboards and can appreciate the gravity of the situation you were in. Glad that one ended well for ya. What doesn't kill ya usually makes for a good story.
