No more messing around...

Time to chose! For whatever reason a hypothetical situation has arose that is forcing you to chose one and only one Spyderco as your EDC. This knife is all you get for the rest of your life as your own personal pocket knife. What's it going to be and why.

Go!

That's a really tough choice! They each have their merits.
would probably choose my Domino, based on its great ergonomics, superb build quality and fantastic blade steel.

You didn't answer your own question.....

Maybe the CF S90V Manix XL, Domino or the new Stretch that is coming out.

It's such a tough question I figured I would ponder until morning.

I think he means knives that actually exist. I'd be VERY tempted by my K390 Mule and Serrata, but they don't lend themselves as well to EDC. I'm assuming EDC means I'll be doing normal chores and will still have other fixed blade food prep knives at home and that fixed blade carry isn't necessarily legal everywhere most people go. Folders considered...my CruWear Manix, Schempp Tuff, and SuperBlue Stretch would be tempting, but a stainless knife will probably last longer if I could only have one for the rest of my life. I can't choose between 2 of my top 3 all time favourites...I'd have to flip a coin and I'd be equally happy between either of the two. CTS 204P ParaMilitary2 OR Chokwe.

Great and at the same time a scary sad question.

Stuck with one knife forever? Based on my limited knowledge of spyderco I will pick the BBS Military with CPM-S90V blade and some sweet linen micarta scales from Cuscadi or Keyman.

My thinking is with the Military you can still do big knife jobs and it is light enough for daily carry. If I am going to have it forever might as well get some scales that show it's age.
On my radar: 110V Military, Police 4 and some sweet Rex 45 Military action.

Newest Spydies: S90v Ti Military, Pacific Salt and a special Kiwi.

Only ONE knife? My choice is SE para 1. Reasons why are the following:

Strength.- Overall strong knife: strong blade, strong lock, solid handles.
Size.- For me, it has the optimum dimensions for the overall spectrum of cutting tasks.
Steel.- S30V, it's all said.

That is only my humble opinion.

For current production models, I would choose para 2.

Haven't had the luck of getting my hand while they were available (sad thing which I wish I'll be able to repair once next batch shows up) but I think I'd go with the S110v manix based on what I saw on my MT18. There's no K390 or maxamet folder yet to try to beat S110v :P

I bought my Paramilitary 2 intending it to be my main knife. Unfortunately for me (and like so many others) 1 Spyderco is never enough but if I still had to choose it would still be the PM 2, it covers everything I need a knife for and the quality vs. price is second to none.

Tough question for sure, lately I've really been liking the manix models, LW S110v is freakin awesome and the cruwear is just plain classy, but if I had to choose just one spyderco I think it would have to be my southard, great size, stout build, blade shape and steel are perfect for me.

I have been on a bit of a Manix spree lately, but I have to choose the PM2. Any PM2 with a stainless steel blade.

I have a lot of faith in the compression type locks like the PM2 or Manix BBL, but the PM2 fits my hand slightly better, and I like the acute point.

3.5 inch is a good sized blade for EDC
Good light weigth
G10 and liners for strength.
Open back for easy cleaning.
Effortless to open and close.

Between the 3 that I own, I'd go with the blue M390. It sharpens easier than the 20CP but holds an edge noticeably better than S30V. The 204p is still new and unused so I cannot comment yet.

Realistically, a standard Delica 4 could easily cover my needs forever.

Tough call but if I could only choose one Spyderco to make me happy it would be......my large spyderpac!!! Just kidding it would have to be a C46 Lum tanto (Ti with CE). I would carry this because I think it's the best looking folder they have made.it comes with a strong tip, perfect length, higher end handle material (for the time).
Flash Batch request: Flat Iron Salt (CE w/ yellow FRN)
New knife request: Police 4 Salt!!!

The knife currently spending most time in my pocket is the Techno. This little beauty has really taken me by surprise. If you haven't handled one yet, give it a go now!

Manix 2 s110v Lightweight. Because it's light, strong as **** for how much it weighs, holds an edge like nothing else I've ever used, is ambidextrous, has great ergos..there's no shortage of reasons.

I'd have to say the Southard. It's got tons of edge for the package, and it's slim enough to EDC in almost any situation. Tied for second would be my Manix XL (just a bit big to carry sometimes), and the 204P PM2. I have a feeling, though, that this answer would change after the Slysz Bowie drops. Just a feeling...

This assumes that we're just talking about EDC, like Rigger mentioned. If it's the ONLY knife I get, then I go XL.

I'm going to have to go with my 204P PM2 as well. I'm sure if I had a blue PM2 I would go with that. The paramitary is just the perfect knife for my needs.

Thanks for all your input fellas!
