So far the attraction of this design to me is only cosmetic. Ignoring the corners and arcs on the spine of the blade, what's this blade all about? I see a LOT of belly set far forward. Why? My gut tells me that isn't a good thing for general EDC.

Is there some logic or specific purpose behind the blade shape?

I'm also interested in whether you could adapt it to a Manix 2 handle. I find it more ergonomic than the Endura and you still have G10 and FRN options.

Nice design.

While reading this thread I just happen to have a 5.11 Min Pin in my pocket today. It's not a spydie but it's cheap and I'm grinding and welding steel today.

I like the pointed rather than rounded thumb ramp on the Min Pin, it locks in the hand real well. I say keep both of the points on the top of the blade. It looks good and I think it will function well

Prototype is done, but I don't know if I should post it here or private To Sal...
Sal can't be private messaged, so I'll have to wait. It does look really good :D Lock works and everything.

I wander if Sal has ever considered a "Black Widow" model?
Or a "Venom"
Pretty cool names for a Spyderco model imo. :)

And they suit the company well :D
The Dragon looks far better than the sketch did now and it's name really suits it now :) Would like to see a Spydie where Black Widow would have the same resemblance :)

Spyderco Black Widow? There's a counterfiet version; too bad that there's not an authentic version... Maybe the fakers are ahead of the game on this one--making a counterfiet of a product that doesn't exist?

As much as I'd like to see that photo...

PM Sal and show ONLY him the images/ideas....so a little rework on your images might help? :)

What Buendia518 posted is what I'm keeping myself to as of now.
I'm sorry about not being able to post the prototype :/
I would love to post it and get your feedback on it, but I'm not willing to risk it as of now...
When I can, I will post it. But for now the sketch will have to do...
I can promise you that it looks whole lot better this way and if it ever comes into production or anything like that,
I'll post pictures...everywhere... :D
Sorry to let you and perhaps others down, but I'm going by the rulebook on this one...

Actually owned this at some point...
I liked the engraved widow, then I saw it was a bad Spyderco replica that doesn't even look like one :(
Gave it to a friend of mine, took it out camping, rusted up like nothing else and blade broke... Looks sort of nice, but it's a sad replica with zero quality.

I've been wanting a somewhat larger Jester for years--maybe half again as big as the original (but larger than the Manbug/Ladybug ratio). I like that DutchBlades proposed two sizes. I'd definitely get a "Dragon" if the blade were in the Cat/Chaparral range.

At first glance, I don't think you would be able to close that blade into that handle. It has so much upsweep on the blade and very little curvature on the handle to account for the upsweep.

If you look at some custom makers, you will see that some of the crazy blade shapes need crazy handle shapes. The good thing IMO, is that down sweeping the handle to account for the upswept blade will only help with keeping the knife in your hand.

For example, look at the handle on Emerson's Gypsy Jack.

After all that, it looks nice, but it doesn't seem like my cup of tea.

There is a fully functional prototype as of now,
design has changed in a really good way and everything closes and locks up good :D
Original sketch was out of proportions :/

That is very true, good thing Spyderco has a wide variety of models, materials and blade steels :D
