C188 Dog Tag release date?

#1

Post by jah »

Anybody have an idea of when the C188 Dog Tag will be available?
Any further mention/discussion of a Ronin re-release?

I tried searching for the C188 and "dog tag, "dogtag" without hits, so figured I would start a thread. :D

It was in the mid-year supplement so I have to think/hope in the next 6 months. The specific timelines are seldom available unless Sal chimes in. I believe it's a bit of a mystery for them at times and it's a practice or under-promising and over-delivering for happy customers.

I don't know when but I may be picking this one up when it comes out. It is a cool little knife.

Howes has it listed on their website, so it shouldn't be long. He also just listed the Chubby yesterday (?) and the Rubicon a few days ago. This usually means imminent release within the next 2-3 weeks, but that's just "usual" and not iron-clad.

Tks! Knifecenter has them listed as a pre-order, so figured the release was sometime in this century :(

Thanks Sal, and an apology, the last post was directed at KnifeCenters pre-order process, not Spyderco . I pre-ordered once from them on a sprint run Spyderco, and it was never fulfilled, after waiting months. The tone of the post upon re-reading it comes out wrong, what meant as humor, could easily be mis-construed.
So thanks again for the great knives, particularly the Delica, one of which has been in my pocket almost everyday since I first purchased one in the 90’s!

No problem,

Many often joke about our delivery dates.

I didn't see myself buying one of these when I first saw it...but I've rethought it and I'll almost definitely pick one up.

I want one so bad I can just about taste it. ;)

On a different note, I had the pleasure of being able to hold one of Serge's actual custom Dog Tag Folders at the BLADE Show this year. IIRC, I believe he was using CTS-XHP and brown G-10. Just about plunked the $$$ down for that little beauty. :-) Must...have...patience...ugh.
