One way to tell if it's a fake, for the golden based ones TIMESTAMP

A place to list and reference all Spyderco counterfeits, clones, and replicas that are found. Anything that isn't a legitimate Spyderco fits in this area.

Ya so I did buy a millie and a pm2 recently from the dark side, for umm research purposes... :o turns out theres no time stamp on the blade, so if you threat yours is a fake then take it apart, or if you buy on some forum you can ask for the seller to take it apart to reassure you. Note, the chinese put a crap load of locktite in as well so the screws tend to strip easily, thats one more indication, hope my information helps u peeps, well until the china man starts to time stamp the blades too that is :/

Until Golden decides to stop doing that for some reason or the fakers start doing it. That and taking your knife apart voids the warranty.

Easier trick: don't buy from crap "dealers". You don't need a torx wrench if you have an email receipt with the right letterhead.

Ya well some people can't resist a bargain at times just pointing out what might be a good indicator at this time or send it back to spyderco for cleaning/sharpening and receive the good news right of the bat lol
