The other day I had to pay a traffic ticket at the local city and county building, no big deal I forgot to signal a turn. Well after spending five minutes looking for a parking spot and another five minutes getting to the place I needed to be in the building I realized that to go any further I must go through the metal detector. Well ofcoarse not thinking ahead I had left my EDC 440V Military clipped to my right front pocket. I guess I should have realized they would have a metal detector, but as i'm sure many people can attest to when you carry something all the time you tend to forget it's there. So not wanting to make the trip all the way back to my care with the Millie I decided to hide the knife as I have read many other people have done. Looking around I spotted the public bathrooms and decided to check in there. As luck would have it the restroom was empty. I went to the large handicapped stall and saw the dispencer for those things you put on the toilet seat to keep your but germ free. Well I pulled it half way out and stuffed my beloved Millie down in there and pushed it back together. Know I would have no problem getting through the check point. Well it took me at least a half hour to get the stupid ticket taken care of and the hole time all I could think of was my poor Millie sitting vulnerable in the restroom. GEE I sure wish I had taken the time to bring it back to the car. After I finished paying my fine, all the time hoping this fine wasn't going to include my Millie, I headed straight back to the bathroom. I enter the bathroom head right to the handicapped stall and what do you know it's occupied. (DAM) Well not wantig to wait outside this mans stall for him to finish I took up residence right next to him. I didn't have to go or anything so I just sat there waiting. Know during this private time I had I realized how nervous I was. Believe it or not but my heart was pounding, my hands where sweating and all I could think of was what if it's not there. I also thought GEEZZ whats taking this guy so long. Well he did in fact finally finish but I still had to wait for him to wash his hands. I thought It probably wouldn't look very good if right after he left the stall that I jump out of mine to enter his.
Well i'm very happy to report that I was able to rescue my Millie and all turned out just fine. In fact as I write this my Millie and I are sharing some sausage and crackers for lunch, YES I washed the knife. Let me just say this though next time i'll spend the extra time and bring the knife back to the car, the five minutes saved was wasted waiting for the guy to leave the stall and the tension of my Military going it alone was almost more then I could handle. Live and learn I guess.

Military Hideout
You sure know how to build the suspense. That was getting scary.
I have considered carring around a small padlock(maybe as a key chain) so if I have to leave my Spydies behind I can lock them together onto something. Now I have seen the locking carbiner at the stores and might pick one of those up. You never know when it might come in handy.
