Sal, a Manix3 question, and a PM2 question as well.

Post by dishcore »

Hello Sal, and thanks for being the backbone of this industry!

I just wanted to ask two questions:
Is the Manix2 headed for a Manix3 anytime soon?

Also, one question I think i'm the only one too interested in:

After seeing all the Enduras and Delicas from days past with Damascus and Jigged Bone type handles,
And after handling my Carbon Fiber / Suminagashi Damascus Caly 3....

It makes me hopeful for a good mix of these items on a PM2

Like Damascus / Suminagashi blade with some really wicked Ti bolstered scales of your choosing.

I'm a minority, I know.

What is it that you're thinking of improving on the Manix 2? Or are you just into that 3 is more than 2, so it should be better?

I highly doubt there is a M3 in the pipeline (what is there to improve upon?), and can't see a damascus para2 happening either unfortunately

I've heard the only change on the Manix 3 is going to be the shift to a 4mm thick blade.

So far, I've only heard this in my hopes and dreams. :p

I believe others have been hoping to see the jimping modified/reduced and some possibly hoping for a swedge on the spine.

While we're making changes, we might want to look at the cage, I've seen some complaints about the lock not being easy to operate.

+1
4 mm stock blade for Manix LX would be nice

4mm blade? It's already massive as it is!

I'd like to see the Manix line expanded with different blade shapes, like Benchmade does with their Griptilian line.

The only things I'd want will probably never happen, namely being a version with solid G10 scales without liners and a wire clip. Basically make the lightweight version exactly how it is only in G10 instead of FRN.

I would like a 4-way clip.

Believe the M2 already has a 4-way clip. LW is a different story.

You are not the only one who wants one of these David.

A thicker blade and a swedge sounds good to me.

Corrected, on account of the caged ball lock. Was thinking of my 83mm Manix!

I do not believe that the clip would interfere with the operation of the lock internally but it is more that it would interfere with the user's ability to accuate the lock with the clip in the way. Is that the reason?

I would like G10 no liners, but with a deep wire clip instead of the one it came with. Really though, I probably wouldn't buy one, the LW S110V is great as is except I swapped it to a deep carry wire clip.

yes. It is XL with peel-ply CF(Dodo style) scales and 4mm thick S110V or 204P blade. :)
