Really though, today's country is essentially pop with a few twangy guitars and a "country singer voice", so it's not a very far stretch to bridge the gap. You can go to any country town and find rednecks who listen to hip hop, so really it's a surprise to me that it's taken this long to hear something that blends the two. I imagine there's probably a ridiculous amount of money to be made there and I bet it'll get mainstream very soon.
Sad but true...

Nice 3rdGen, didn't expect to see Antibalas thrown out there.

Evil D, I like that DBA79, thanks for posting. I can appreciate the heavy stuff, but I'm just all over the place really.

Here's some Spyderco Buyer's Blues:

Know matter what genre of music you like it is hard not to love The Band.

I've only stumbled onto them fairly recently, but they're definitely awesome...incidentally KEXP has a killer YouTube channel. And I've yet to meet anyone who doesn't like The Band.

Anyone on here listen to Trombone Shorty?

Saw them live 2 years ago...cool band, but they had come on right after In Flames...which was a very tough act to follow.

Been listening to a lot of early Ministry lately. Because 1 drummer just isn't badass enough, you gotta have 2.

I've seen these guys live (They opened for Corb Lund last time I saw him), and they do a great live show.

I think I prefer this to the Ray Wylie Hubbard version.

Heh, what? No "faux british accent, new wave with sympathy" old ministry? :)

I used to work for Martin Atkins' ( the drummer in the black and white striped shirt who is not Bill Reiflin) record label. Still run into him every now and then

Yeah I don't go quite that far back lol. They practically gave birth to industrial metal and I like to pretend there never was a Ministry before that lol. Didn't one of them end up drumming for REM or something?

yes. Bill Reiflin was drumming for R.E.M in the mid 2000's. I have a piece of the steel cage from the "in case you didn't feel like showing up" tour. I actually have a bit of memorabilia from the world of industrial music.
