Best Spyderco Use Yet!!

#1

Post by Jmotley »

On May 28th at 12:37 am, I used my Super Blue Caly 3.5 to cut my son's umbilical cord.
I had discussed previously with our midwife the possibility of using my own pocket knife when the time came. I think she must have thought I was joling but when the time did come and she handed me the surgical scissors, I pulled out my Caly and she laughed and said OK. Part of me wanted to take a picture of the action, but I felt it would ruin the moment and feel to 'staged'. As it was, a beautiful moment that I will always remember. She told me later how the nurses were talking in the break room and amazed at how effortlessly my knife cut through. It was my proudest Spyderco moment.

Thank you to Sal and Spyderco for the wonderful knives you offer us. I am proud to welcome my son IMO this world with such a fine tool.

Congrats. Somebody else did it on here and took a pic although the pic isn't necessary. You could consider gifting the knife to your child someday along with the story. I wish you many years of health and happiness with the new member of your family.

Congratulations on your Son and also for owning the best knife Spyderco makes. There is nothing else in the Spyderco line that can touch it as an edc.
