I got one Dfly and one manbug SB so far and both were very sharp. Even bevels also. Very good job on both. Got another dfly coming tomorrow and I might get another manbug. I'm confident they will be the same. :DTheFactor wrote:That's awesome !! All of my Spydies came razor sharp but so far my YoJimbo 2 was the sharpest but I still hit it with my Sharpmaker and ultra fine rods and then my Knife plus strop block . It push cuts like no other and shaves hair better then any razor I've ever owned . So my SB dragonfly will have a tuff road to follow but knowing Spyderco it's going to be right there !

Here you go one of the best sharpening tools you'll ever get !Sharpdressed man wrote:I am going to look into that "Knife plus" strop block. Is knife plus a brand name or a vendor?
There the best for maintaining a sharp blade just touch your blade up after light use or sharpening . It's a wooden block with leather treated compounds attached .

That's great to know ! Spyderco is very consistent from my experience also 8 of there knives I bought were very sharp out of the box.jackknifeh wrote:I got one Dfly and one manbug SB so far and both were very sharp. And a very welcome to you to :)Spydersense wrote:And another thanks from me. I just ordered one too. I need a strop to help finish my amateur edges.
You guys will love it ! I've noticed even hitting my new spydercos with it new out of the box takes them to the next level of sharpness . Just remember like sharpening you don't need a lot of pressure just use the weight of the knife when you drag it a across the strop block with little to no angle I've found works best and you'll be amazed . It'll feel like your not doing anything but trust me it is and you'll be able to push cut yellow pages , ATM receipts or what ever your heart desires lol . It will shave the hair off your arm to lol I've got bald patches all over and finally decided I'll stick to paper for my testing . I can Shave with the blade straight up and it still shaves and at a angle it just wipes them off to lol . I'm sure I could whittle hair if I knew how and had better eyes lol . But remember it'll be dangerously sharp !! I was just frog lubing my Yo2 a while back and just barely ran my finger across the side of the blade and it cut my finger wide open with little to no pressure .

YES IT IS!!! It's SB D'fly day for me. :D My second one. My first one changed handles and is now having another made. :) So the blade is laying on the bench naked. :) Can't keep that guy happy. Now I'll always have one in the pocket. :) Well after lunch time that is. Already have the lawn chair sitting beside the mailbox. :)TheFactor wrote:Is it Monday yet ?

You guys will love the strop I think also. I got one a few years ago and used it for about a year. I gave it to my son when he started buying knives and he still uses it. One nice thing about it is you don't ever need any more compound to keep it working. Just a few drops of olive oil rubbed in with your fingers every few months and you're good to go. Easy to maintain and it works great too. Not expensive either. As stated though, use light pressure or VERY light pressure. And don't raise the angle more than a TINY BIT higher (if that) than the angle that is already on the edge. Like most tools you can do wonders with it or you can do harm. :) Enjoy those edges. :DSpydersense wrote:And another thanks from me. I just ordered one too.
