How about a foliage green Endura, Delica and Dragonfly set! That would be something...

When I turned 30 I got a S110V Native so I recommend the blue Manix LW. New steel in a shape/handle combo that has gained its merits to make this year memorable. Just in case you are looking for a user knife and high carbide steel.

^^^^^^^^^I would definitely agree.......such an awesome knife!

However, if you are looking for a fixed blade then as Swigert suggests a Southfork is the choice. I have both :)

BTW - I had to laugh at the thread title as I have been turning 30 for the past 14 yrs now :D

30 eh? Enjoy it well it lasts! A poll taken of the elderly revealed that their greatest regrets were that they hadn't been more promiscuous in their youth. If you are a free agent......don't let yourself have that same regret later on in life.

Ha I've enjoyed who I've enjoyed and am very happy and lucky to have found my Katie. I am actually engaged and have a 2 year old girl. I have seen more of this continent than most I know. My regrets are that I have worked too hard for people who didn't deserve that hard work and I didn't canoe my grand river enough and didn't take up fishing & hunting younger.

Then again I do everything backwards to just about everyone so it's very much me.

I'm with you guys that are well beyond 30 and I'm trying to decide if I want a knife or something else for my upcoming birthday. I have too many hobbies vs. birthdays upcoming in the near future.

I think an upcoming birthday might be a good excuse to buy a sprint on the secondary market.

Oh man I hate it when these hypothetical questions aren't actually hypothetical.

I'm saving for the upcoming Farid Mehr K2, and I just bought a South Fork.

Whatever the **** you want. Buy what you will, its your birthday, and birthdays are the best time to pick up something you have wanted free of the guilt. **** I just bought a brand new handgun (Fairly expensive too) for my B-day. No guilt here. B-days also allow you freedom from your significant other's objections. Who can argue with you wanting something on your birthday?

If I were turning 30 I would take that money and spend it on some 21 year old hottie with daddy issues. Since I'm over 40, well.. I'd do the same if I thought it would work out. But the knife I would like to get is the Southard. If over the budget, then Domino, below that Chapperal maybe.

This is a hard one seeing as I've got a few of knives before hitting 30. Probably a custom but having to pick spyderco it'd be an upcoming knife rubicon/k2/bowie, current would be the chap 2.

Hunting and fishing+a new knife for celebrating a decade?
I would go for a Southfork. I don´t have one yet but the blade/handle/steel/sheath-combination is outstanding.
