I buy a knive "Spyderco Native" but i am very disapointed by the bad quality. I am not sure that it is a real spyderco.

Over the blade I see "Golden Colorado USA"

Hi Bricoleurcocteau, and welcome to the forum.

I think your first endeavor into Spydercos is a bust. The BRK Native is a poor imitation of the original Native. Don't ever buy them! They're all over ebay, and often go with no bids. The quality was lousy, and the price was seductive. Get the real thing next time. There's a world of difference.

If the authenticity is questionable, the reason may lie in the purchase price. Quality costs money and is evident in the product. If it was purchased sight unseen, the possibility of it being a conterfeit increases. Most honorable merchants offer a return policy, and if you don't get satisfacory results, please report the incident to the local organization that regulates such fraudulent business practices. Good luck.

Welcome to the Spyderco Forum. Just like my forespeakers said, get the real thing. There are many forumites here from the Benelux and they can surely be of assistance.
BTW, do you make / modify knives? (considering the nickname you've chosen) <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

To keep some from thinking it is a fake, its NOT.It was just a screwed up deal Spyderco had with Camilus to produce them and Camilus drop the ball.

Before they started manufacturing in Colorado, Spyderco used to contract companies such as Benchmade and Camillus to make some of their designs. Spyderco still does this with makers in Seki, Japan and Taipei, Taiwan as well as their sister brand, Byrd, in China (don't know which city).

Bricoleurcouteau,

Welcome to the forums! Get yourself a new, updated version of that Native (the one you bought was made for Spyderco by a company named Camillus. Many of them had quality issues similar to the problems found with your knife). The difference will amaze you. Fresh out of the box, the newer Native cuts like a laser (at least, the Native with S30V does, I haven't tried the one with VG10 steel), only better. Sorry to read that the knife you bought was a disappointment.
