Anyone have some Thoughts on the BBS Blue/S90V Military?
I just got my military, and have been loving it so far. I like it so much that I might have to get another flavor, and was wondering if anyone has the Bento Box Shop Blue/S90V version. I'm really liking the looks of the blue scales and I would LOVE to have an S90V folder. I'm thinking it could be my small game/b&t knife since the bright scales and high-carbide steel would be great for this. Right now, I'm just not sure if it's worth the price, and haven't been able to find a lot of info on it. Any opinions are appreciated, but PLEASE don't bring up the BBS crap. No reason for it, guys.
Thanks,
Ryan
Thanks,
Ryan

IMO, relative to what else spyderco offers and the price of those offerings, it is pretty highly priced. I'd say not worth it.
However, relative to the rest of the folder market in general than it is a good deal. In that regard I'd say worth it.
If you're gonna be a user, you may want to look into a factory second. $60 lower, and with Spyderco's quality they can't be bad

I love the Military, despite a few flaws....and love S90V. And I think that it is overpriced. For me. I have my Cruwear that I spent far less on, I have a M4 framelock that I got on the secondary market for less than the BBS one! So IMO, its just too much because I have 2 of the best ever Militarys and so my needs are met...
Of course if Sal decides that a CPM 154/S90V Military is in the works...I will gladly pay for that one.

I have a factory second blue mili and I can't tell what the issue is it seems perfect for me so go for it I think it's worth it. (The whole factory second knife shows that spyderco has high QC if I think the knife is fine but it's a factory second, but ymmv with fac seconds)

From another point of view, though, if you want a Military with an S90V blade, it's a steal, even at the BBS price. I assume that's why BBS figures they can sell it at the price they're asking.Strong-Dog wrote:IMO, relative to what else spyderco offers and the price of those offerings, it is pretty highly priced. That is very true. I was just comparing it to something like an XL Manix 2 with CF and S90V. This whole discussion has made me rethink if I should buy oneJNewell wrote:From another point of view, though, if you want a Military with an S90V blade, it's a steal, even at the BBS price.
