I'm with this idea. I am sure as many Para 2 lovers as we have around here that the Comp lock on this would really bring a lot more appeal to it the second time around.
I have not used the Centofante 3, but the 4 and my Vesuvius are mean slicing blades and a compliment to anyone's edc.

These are great knives! I am surprised they do not get more attention.
There's probably enough room in the butt of the handle to drill a 3/16 hole for a lanyard.
I really like my Cento3 it was actually a father's day gift from the wife, very elegant nice gents folder in my opinion. I wouldn't mind a sprint run on super blu, ZDP189, S30V, 390 or H1 serrated. FRN colors could be a chocolate brown, burgundy, navy blue, or a royal blue for the H1.

I like that idea, but I am afraid to try it! I don't believe I have ever seen a C3 or C4 taken apart, which would help me visualize & determine exactly where to drill. But thank you for the encouragement :) . I am more likely to enlist a maker's help, I think.
The palladium is really cool, along with the Iron Man connection. Palladium is an interesting material, quite valuable, with industrial uses, and is great on a Spyderco.
Kinda weird.. Got home from work and changed clothes.. Looking to see what I could throw in the pocket and decided on my C3.. Got to the Forum and what is the first I read.. THIS!! I am in for either C3/4.. Colored handle too!! John

ZDP-189 Centofante 3 or 4 with Burgundy or Navy handles.....would be great.
I think just because it seems to be one of the only higher end steel options from Japan, and I think many see it as being easier to sharpen than ZDP, and people like playing with patinas. I see the appeal, I would be interested in either steel. Really though I wouldn't care if they just changed the handle color and left it VG10..it's a great knife as is, but ZDP would definitely seal the deal for me.

I'm with ya on that.....I wouldn't care either. :)

Pick your poison. Pain to sharpen or a pain to keep from rusting. :p
ZDP-189 was trendy as heck 10 years ago. Super Blue has it's own little niche now. I don't think it works (or should work) for every knife but arguably a 2mm hollow-ground folding knife and it would be heaven on Earth, IMO. ZDP-189 wouldn't be bad either or any other type of steel. Sprints are always great :) .
Personally I never understood why there isn't more. I've always felt both these knives were light years better than the Delica and don't understand why the Delica wasn't made obsolete by this knife. I guess the Delica is a bit more robust and you could argue that having 2 liners instead of one and 4 way clip could be the reason, but I have cut a LOT of cardboard with my Centofante 4 and I don't really see it as being any weaker than a Delica until you start stressing the pivot laterally. These knives often get lumped into the "gents folder" category, but I have always used mine as a utility knife and it has never let me down.
On a side note, and maybe this is just me, but I would really appreciate if everyone took note and made an effort not to shorten Frank's name to Cento....that was something I used to do a lot, but when he passed away I started feeling like it wasn't right and I make it a point to use his full name now. Anyone else with me? I even went so far as to add Centofante to my phone's dictionary.

I also agree here. I've had a Centofante 3 and 4 for a long time. Love them both. I prefer them over the Delica because the blade is actually beautiful on each of them. If I'm not mistaken the Centofante 3 and 4 have 2mm thick blade-stock which makes them slice like mad. I know they are thinner stock than my D4's and I think the D4's are 2.5mm stock.

You got it D. I just changed my post so maybe you could change my quote if you don't mind? Didn't really think about it until now but I agree.

This is a really great point David, one I fully support.

You got it, and I hope I didn't sound like I was calling anyone out. Just a personal preference.
