I need to replace all my Black Torx screws PARAMILITARY 2?

#1

Post by Revan_1355 »

Is there a process or a way that I can replace my torx screws on my black Paramilitary 2? My centering was waay off on my brand new 11/2013 built PM2 black and after loosening and tightening multiple times my black Torx screws have lost their coating. I want to replace them. Is that possible if so how much would it cost? And how? Ideas?

Thanks great idea! Doing that after this reply. I've heard nothing but amazing stuff about Spyderco's customer service and I don't mind paying for them since they are technically just wear, but it would be supercool to get them replaced, now that my centering is perfect!!!

So, after going to all that trouble to center your blade, you want to take the screws out to replace them? Maybe I'm crazy, but I'd be more inclined to look for a way to blacken the screw heads.

Exactly what I was thinking. Take a sharpie or some model paint to them or something lol.

Or a really good cold blue solution like Brownell's Oxpho-blue.

You guys are going to laugh but that is what I did before I even started this thread. I took a perm sharpie and colored them in.. Maybe I'm just OCD but the way the black Sharpie looks it stands out like hooker with a sign that says look at me I'm cheap. Lol

I almost feel like I wish I hadn't colored them in and left them with the wear.

The sharpie will wear off from carrying and handling it. I'd leave it alone if you have it how You want it, blade centering and smoothness etc, and the screws aren't stripped. If it's a user they will start to show wear either way. I say use it and enjoy it rather than spending more money to replace them and risking it going off centered and stiff again.
