Serrata arrived!
Serrata arrived!
I received my Serrata yesterday and it is better than the catalog picture! The handle is sculpted to fit my hand perfectly. The blade is nice and thick at the spine just the way I like a heavy cutting knife to be! Blade is beautifully polished and shaving sharp, and the custom molded adjustable sheath is a definite plus. Perfectly sized knife. Very pleased with this knife! Thank you Stuart Ackerman and Spyderco for coming together on this! :) :spyder:

I really like this knife as a general purpose outdoors/camp knife! The blade size is just right in my opinion. The handle size is perfect and the contour of the handle causes it to melt in my hand. Love the thick spine! The polish is beautiful on this steel also. I also like the sheath that comes with this knife. Perfect fit and also allows for a variety of carry options. Great knife and a must have for me! Won't do anything for those obsessed with exotic steels, but cuts very well and sharpens easily! :)Stuart Ackerman wrote:I moved the thread a tad... :D

Nice pics Reject! I am really liking the Serrata myself and am still shocked every time I pick it up how thick the tang is! The polished Micarta handles are also very nice. The knife overall is very well balanced and wicked sharp with the factory edge I received on mine (scary sharp). I haven't seen any need to touch it up yet.
Very nice piece Mr. Ackerman, thank you!

Thanks for the kind words, but this version is all credit to Sal and his little band of elves, 'cause they made this...

I just received mine last week and I started singing that Doris Day song "Que Serrata, Serrata" because I was that giddy. I haven't had much of an opportunity to test it out, but I love the thickness along the tang (substantial), the balance, heft and overall appearance. If you're looking for a fixed blade, give it a look. Nice job Stuart!

Looks like they are getting sharpened all the way to the end now...thats a good sign.
I still wish that I could get one without the hole...because the overall design is great, the fit and finish looks really top notch (like I expect from Taiwan) but I won't buy a FB with a hole...(Mules don't count)
