I can understand making a similar knife but how can they use Spyderco's name, use the same logo and even copy the signature? Is so sad.

Holland is correct. They're obviously fairly skilled cutlery makers, if they were to make their own titanium framelock flipper they could probably get into the market in the same way that Enlan and Sanrenmu have. Certainly they'd have to work on steel heat treatment, this one is probably 9Cr18MoV which I think Sal has done test pieces in and is a decent steel with a good heat treatment (a bit like 440V). And I agree with Revival, it wouldn't be quite so bad making a similar knife if they refrained from using Spyderco's trademarked hole and the Spyderco branding. It wouldn't have been that much more difficult to put in an oval hole and come up with their own brand name. Maybe slightly different dimensions so it's more "inspired by" rather than "directly copied from".

Spyderco has an international reputation forged from over 30 years of working very hard and doing the right thing. That's way tougher to accomplish than building a brand from scratch. Being a degenerate low-life is a pretty quick path to making short-term money.

Really, if people didn't keep buying these easy to avoid fakes by supporting Spyderco's retail network they wouldn't be in business. So...legal pursuit is necessary but being a semi-informed buyer would be MUCH more cost effective for everyone. This ain't exactly like getting a fake Picasso from Christie's Auctions...don't buy from scum and you won't get scum.

Are you sure you don't mean 440C? I've used both 8Cr and 440V, and I doubt 9Cr is that drastic an improvement over 8Cr. 440V is miles ahead of 8Cr in everything

You're right. I was thinking that 440V was just 440C with some vanadium added, but going from the charts here they're very different steels.
