My first Spyderco - Sage 1

#1

Post by Syncharmony »

Hey guys and gals, I've officially been indoctrinated into the cult of Spyderco with the purchase of a Sage 1. After days of research and reading reviews and considering my options, I settled on the Sage 1 as being a great blend of ergonomics, beautiful materials, great steel and stellar fit and finish. Unfortunately, no one told me that Spydercos are like fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies and it's simply impossible to have just one. So, less than a week later, I'm already jonesing to add to the collection. I think I see how this becomes a problem :D

So, I like photography a lot, so first thing I did was go outside to shoot some photos and I figured this is the place to put them if anywhere. Hope you enjoy!

Excellent choice for your first one. If a person could only have one Spydie, I'd nominate the Sage 1.

I see you're also into the macro photography thing. I've posted a bunch of macro shots of Spydies over the past few years here on the forum. Fun stuff!

You are right... you can't have just one. Over the past 3 years, I've accumulated about 50 of them. My first was the Calypso 3 (carbon fiber). It's a beaut!

Congrats on the knife and welcome! If you get more Spydercos to take pictures of, it's really just one hobby. ;)

Nice. Now that a few months have passed, how are you liking your Sage-1? It's probably going to be my next purchase. I just got a Chaparral.

Nikon D7100 and I used a 35mm 1.8 and a 105mm 2.8 macro for those shots.

Love it and a total gateway to a new habit. So far, probably the best execution of a liner lock I've personally seen.

Yeah, I've purchased a Paramilitary 2 and a Southard and received a Manbug as a gift. All amazing!

Of course we enjoy your photographs. Great macro shots. Sage 1 is one of my favourite Spyderco knives, and a must have.

Thanks you for sharing.

Regards.

I continue to come back to your pictures of this. I'm so friggin' close to pulling the trigger on a Sage-1, I can't stand it. I just don't know if it will be redundant, considering I already own a Chaparral.
