Gateway Spydie Poll

We all started somewhere, and I've been curious to see how you all ended up loving Spyderco. So I've created this poll to get a better idea. I've tried to include everything I could think of and have included an "other" option for things I may have missed. Just be sure to describe below what the "other" is.

For me, it was the Tenacious with a black blade. I've never looked back.
Most recently acquired: Military 2, Paramilitary 2 Tanto x2, YoJUMBO, Swayback, Siren, DLC Yojimbo 2, Native Chief, Shaman S90V, Para 3 LW, Ikuchi, UKPK, Smock, SUBVERT, Amalgam, Para 3 CTS-XHP, Kapara, Paramilitary 2 M390
Grail Paramilitary 2 M390 X 2! ACHIEVED!!

My gate way was a ladybug I used that thing constantly loose in my pocket. One day I went to grab it and it was gone I was crushed. Then I decided to get a tenacious what a game changer! I now tend to buy knives I don't even need lol what an addiction.

Tenacious.

I actually owned two Spydies (identical snap its) for around 20 years before I bought another. The Tenacious (to replace a lost CRKT Lake Bandera) led me to another Tenacious, and then on to a lot more Spydies...

The value line is a serious gateway drug, and a great business policy for Spyderco.

I only bought my first Spydie for the Emerson opener, an Endura. Now I have lots and none with the wave!

The Q model is what hooked me. Super light weight and with the curiously cutout blade, my Q broke down countless cardboard boxes before mysteriously disappearing into someone else's possession. It was followed by a Delica 3 and then seven years after that a Caly 3, then just snowballed from there.

Hey guys,
My first Spyderco was a se Delica 1 that I was gifted by a long time friend.
My first purchase was an original Viele that I got at SMKW.
That's the one that got me hooked.
The fit and finish, and the smoothness of opening made a lasting impression.
Fifty Spydercos later, and I still have a huge wish list.
Later,
Don

My first was a FRN Native, then many years later it was a standard black Delica that really pushed me over the edge, so I voted the FRN line. It's ironic that the Delica brought me in, but now I don't own one and really don't care to own another. I guess it's hard to go back to the softer drugs once you've graduated to the harder stuff lol.

My first was a left handed SS Police, which I never use, but won my over to Spydieland. After that was a Native. Boy, I have used that to death.

My first was the FRN Native, but it didn't really grab me like the first week I carried my FRN Delica 4. That was it, all over. I soon purchased a Manix 2, then Military and I was completely hooked with no sign of an end. I am still enjoying the rush of experiencing all the cute little spyder has to offer.

My first was a Rescue Clipit, then another Rescue. Then a SS Delica followed shortly by a SS Endura. I thought that's all I would need or want, I was wrong, I have a few more now. ;)

Manix 2 is my favorite Spydie.

I was considering picking up a backup HG before they disappear.

Calypso Jr Lightweight, so I voted FRN line. Although this could be considered Caly line, too.

My first Spydie was the Tenacious, purchased in January 2010. Before that, I'd buy a new cheapo knife every couple years. They were just cheap EDC tools to me. I used an Amazon gift card to buy that Tenacious, never expecting to become a Spydie addict!
