Your Spyderco Christmas EDC

#1

Post by Water Bug »

Season's Greetings, All!

So, what's going to be your Spyderco EDC for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?

For Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, I'll be EDCing the Spyderco Chinook II CE along with the Spyderco Delica4 FRN in PE and SE.

When I go out and need to be more discreet, I'll be EDCing the Spyderco Caly3 PE and SE. I'll also have the Spyderco Assist I Orange FRN with me when driving.

How about you?

Wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas!!!

Christmas eve will be my Cruwear Military and my Bob Lum Tanto Folder. I have a sneaking suspicion that I'll be swapping out my Lum for a Karahawk in the morning ;)
Most recently acquired: Military 2, Paramilitary 2 Tanto x2, YoJUMBO, Swayback, Siren, DLC Yojimbo 2, Native Chief, Shaman S90V, Para 3 LW, Ikuchi, UKPK, Smock, SUBVERT, Amalgam, Para 3 CTS-XHP, Kapara, Paramilitary 2 M390
Grail Paramilitary 2 M390 X 2! ACHIEVED!!

I am thinking the tuff for Christmas day, it is a dominator of boxes. Though will likely have the embassy PE and/or the PM2...or possibly the techno as well.
So many spydies, not enough pockets.

As is almost every holiday, I pull out the first real love of my knife life, my CF Caly 3 ZDP. It's a knife that I don't carry very often, so it almost always comes out for special occasions. Right now I'm putting a new edge on it, because the last time I had it out was for a photo shoot, and I ended up not only wrecking my bike and bending the crap out of the clip but also dropping it on a rock and chipping the tip.

Man that's a bummer about the Caly 3. I have my Southard on me for a change...still trying to warm up to it but I think I will carry it for today at least.
Probably carry the Vallotton or Sage 1 for Christmas day.

I have the same problem! Meanwhile 50 other Spydies are nestled in their Spyderpacs wondering why I haven't visited in so long. Oh, oh... Domino!

I will start the Holidays with my workhorse Byrd Meadowlark! Who knows yet what Christmas Day will bring but I can promise it will be my edc for the day. Will make sure my wife opens her purple ladybug first because it will be excellent for cutting away tape on the other packages.

I'll have the fluted ti Native 5 in the pocket, but also the Balance, which has become my go-to package opening knife. Lots of leverage for opening stubborn plastic packages.

As far as those plastic clam shell packages go, I've found that either my ZDP Ladybug or Yojimbo 2 are king when it comes to cleanly slicing those open. The thinness of the Ladybug and the acute point of the Yo 2 really work well. Too bad I don't have an awesome wharnie Manbug (HINT HINT SAL HINT HINT) lol.

Is there a reason you don't own an air yet David? :D

My G10 Delica and my H1 Ladybug in the countycomm sheath on my keychain. Most likely will just use the Delica though.

Eh, too fancy I guess. I was real tempted. The combination of M4 and wharnie was real enticing, but the rest of the design isn't for me.
