Well, here's the Karahawk as depicted on the web site store, but they call it the Finch G10, and it's significantly cheaper than Blade HQ's $189.95....Spyderco sells it for $24.95. I suspect though, that the web site will get fixed ricky tick before Spyderco gets a avalanche of orders for this knife at this super price....

Mark's Outdoors in Vestavia, AL has a collector's. $189, I think. (205) 822-2010. Ask for Randy at the knife counter. Tell him Nick sent you.

Thanks but I'm waiting for my local shop to get one. I was just hoping some of us had one in hand and could share some thoughts and pics.

Ah, I see. It was more directed towards anyone who wanted one. I should've made that clear.
But yeah, I second that. Pics and thoughts would be nice.

Sal, will we see a trainer for this? I'm guessing that depends on the popularity?

We need a budget model. That price tag is pushing me away, even though I really want to pull from my savings and pick one up.

The price, more often than not has more to do with the country of origin and the value of the US dollar to that country's currency.

I'm sure you have your reasons. I wasn't debating that. I just would like to see a karambit a bit more wallet friendly. Hawkbills are all fine and dandy, but I like the Kbits.

Mine came in yesterday. It is an interesting knife. I have no knife/martial arts training, and it definitely feels like a knife I would need some training/practice with to feel comfortable relying on it for self defense. It just has such a different feel, with my pinkie finger in the hole, closing it one-handed I'm concerned I may close it on my other fingers. Maybe I'll just have to carry it and use it a bit to get comfortable with it.
Which Knife, A or B? get Both! (and C, D and E) :)

Get a trainer. Seriously, Karambits take a bit to get proficient with, and a trainer is the best do to that without slicing yourself up. And the traditional grip on a Kbit is reverse grip, with your index finger in the finger hole. However that doesn't mean the forward grip is incorrect. They're cool blades, but more importantly, they're very effective in defensive and offensive situations. While their inception into the world saw them as agricultural tools, they seem to only be referred to nowadays as defensive tools. I was lucky enough to get some hands on training with Kbits from a guy I used to know in AZ. He was a Kali master, and he spent about 10 days working with me and showing me the ropes of a Karambit. As far as spinning it goes, there is no real world application for that, other than doing a half spin and locking it between your middle finger and thumb to do a slash, but the only thing that offers that the more controlled grips don't is a slight reach advantage. I'm no expert, nor do I claim to be, but I do carry and practice with Kbits regularly, and I enjoy doing so. Anyway, get a trainer and practice before you carry it over your regular EDC blade.

Pretty good video on YouTube here:

The ring looks bigger than I expected, which I like. Can't wait to get my hands on one of these.

What does it look like when clipped in a pocket? How visible is that stainless steel finger ring?

Also curious to how it would stack up against the P'kal and Waved Matriarch.
