I had an enjoyable Sunday and Monday in Grove City Ohio training with Mike Janich for Levels 3&4 of Master BladeCraft. It was held at the Karate school of Mr.Dave Holloway on Hoover Rd.
There was also instruction in levels 1&2 on Friday and Saturday.I attended these classes earlier this year.
The curruculum for MBC is structured to be easy enough for the beginner, yet challenging for the advanced students.Carry methods,Legal issues, and empty hand techniques were all covered.Mike was even kind enough to come early to class one morning to demo some "Stick" work.
Tmac was there as was Mr.Kydex himself,Mike Sastre. There is no better weekend than training with old friends and highly motivated karateka.
If you are concerned about personal safety ,but can't or won't carry a Firearm, give this course some consideration.

Dear Mickey:
Thank you for your post and your kind words. It was great seeing you again and having the opportunity to train with the entire group. Best of all, I am also now the proud owner of a Mickey Yurco custom tanto!!! Gotta love that barter economy stuff...
Thanks again for your interest and support.

Mickey,
Have to give you an "Amen" on the "no better weekend" statament, and add to that the new friends you make. "Small world" dept., one of the attendees was one of my brother's karate teachers in the mid 70s. Michael J. is certainly one of the truly gifted instructors out there, and many thanks to Dave Holloway for continuing to bring him here a couple times a year. If you live east of the Mississippi and can't make it out to Golden for MBC, this is a great ongoing opportunity. In addition to the excellent instruction, Mike's sense of humor is not to be missed - keeps you loose enough to help absorb the material.

What an outstanding weekend! MBC is a really fantastic program to be able to participate in. The skills that were developed and learned in four days were enormous. I think it would take months to learn otherwise. The main reason so much information was absorbed is only attributed to the structure and instruction of Mr. Janich's program. I have not been in a program where an instructor was as versatile to incorporate different students experences and tie them into the program.
Mickey and Mike, great to see you guys again. Good to train with you two, always learn new forms of mayhem each time we meet.
Thanks to Dave Holloway being such a gracious host and for providing a great place for us to come and train. I look forward to coming back.
Mr. Janich, thank your very much for time and efforts with this past weekend. You went above and beyond in a lot of aspects and I appreciate it.
Take care,
Tom
