Spyderco Sharpmaker Video

#1

Post by jalcon »

Let me start off by saying, I actually don't own a Spyderco Sharpmaker - yet. I plan on purchasing one very soon though.

Anyways, I just stumbled on the Spyderco Sharpmaker video on youtube, and what a great watch. I'm sure most of you have seen the video, but to someone relatively knew to knives in general, I found it very informative and a joy to watch. Highly recommended. Sal seems like a really down to earth guy as well, and his explaining of everything make's it easy to understand, no matter your knowledge on knives.

If you haven't watched it, and you are kind of new to the game like myself - Check it out.

Picked up a SM back in the early 80s (??).. Never could get the hang of it so I gave it away last year.. Been using a Lansky style system since the mid 70s (Lo-Ray to Lansky).. Can get a real nice edge with it and the use of a leather strop.. JMO and nothing more.. John

i really like the apex 2 system - seems fairly easy to use for the afficionado, and should be able to keep a fairly steady angle even for the beginner; i think i'll have to pick one up some day!
