Matriarch 2 lightweight with emerson opener - Thanks Sal

First I would like to say this is an excellent forum filled with such vast knowledge that, for me, it's far better to read than post. With that being said, I wanted to thank Spyderco for offering the Matriarch 2 with the emerson opener.

I purchased it for weak side defensive carry and have found it to be spectacular. I hope I will never have to deploy it, but if I must, here's what I like about it:

It's lightweight, thin, and has a big handle - With all the stuff I have to carry, weight makes a difference and the benefits of having a big handle are obvious.

I have at least two cracks at getting it open right off the bat, the emerson opener and the thumb hole. If I only manage to get it partially open, the first time the blade catches on something it will certainly pull it the rest of the way into the locked position.

I am not a knife fighter nor have I been in a knife fight. If I have to deploy it, things are going really wrong, all my other tools have failed or I can't get to them. i am certainly in "condition red" (those who study state of mind label conditions as white, yellow, red, and black (black being absolute panic)). in this condition, and with weak hand deployment, gross motor function is my expectation for performance. Target selection will be whatever ain't me and all with the hope of fighting my way to something, such as different tool, or away from something, like the situation I'm in.

It is, in short, an absolutely stellar "get away from me" tool that's easy to carry and deploy. Although I'm certain many know all of this already, I thought I'd offer my praise anyway.
