I've never seen one in person, but from the pictures I liked the looks of the first, flame-anodized ones the best.

But if switching to not anodizing them makes it easier for Spyderco to produce enough of them that there is some chance of us actually receiving them, I'm alright with that :) . I've never been one to do a lot of mods to my knives, so would probably not try to anodize it myself, but I will still keep my existing preorder open, hoping I can get one to go with my fluted Ti Native.

Interesting. Doesn't explain why the Fluted ti Native never arrived in substantial numbers.

It would be great if the new silver Ti Military came in a new steel, any steel just to be different from the blue one, S110V maybe?

The one thing I like about the fluting is that is reduces some of the extra weight from the titanium but I also really like the contouring that comes with it too. The fluted Ti in any color will be appreciated once it's in hand.

I am happy to have one of the original heat anodized models but I would not look down on getting the bright silver one. I think it makes a great canvas for modders and I can see SoloKnifeReviews getting a good amount of business to color these.

Wish I would have gotten one. After my preorder fell through (over a year after placing it), a kind forum member offered to sell me their hardly used one at a fantastic price. Of course I didn't have the spare cash at the time. I suppose I could always color one of these myself, but would have preferred one colored from the factory.

Ti is not too hard so long as the parts are clean. maybe i ll pick one up and see
Interesting! I was just thinking about the time to anodize, not cleaning up before.

+1. One main reason I was a bit disappointed with the 'regular' Ti Military was its weight. The Millie to me is the quintessential lightweight large utility folder and the Ti slabs were just a bit too thick and heavy IMO. The fluting does a great job of maintaining the Millies lightweight and great ergos. I have one of the original blue anodized fluted ti millies, and I would like to add one of these non-anodized ti Millies to my EDC rotation.

I would certainly prefer one in silver/raw, seems like a win/win.

I do have a soft spot for blue Ti, but the military has always seemed more purple to me, although I've never seen one in the flesh to confirm that.

GPKnives has put up pics of the new non-anodized version of the fluted Ti Millie:

Apparently these came and went like a flash... What do you think of the color change? Makes me feel a little blue :( .

I wish I knew the real reason, the logistics of getting it anodized, and what the issue was with the "electrical" anodizing, that beget the change...

(I know about the reports of warping, from the flame process...)

I'm just glad that means that *some* knives are shipping to *some* dealers, at least. I've had one on preorder from KC for a long time, but they aren't very reliable about fulfilling of their preorders sometimes. I need one of these "uncolored" ones to go with my colored one :) .

And to think that a couple of years ago I didn't like titanium, thought it would feel just like the stainless steel handles models I've had, but it feels different to me. The color balance on this pic is off (too much incandescent lighting) so the blue doesn't show up very well on my fluted Ti Millie.

Personally, I don't care for the non-anodized version. The blue was incredible though.

The Native on the other hand looks awesome, maybe because of the different handle pattern configuration? Looks like a sunburst!

I haven't seen the non-anodized version of the fluted Ti Military, but like you said, the fluted Ti Native looks awesome.

I'm hoping that leaving out the anodizing process will enable them to get more of the fluted Ti Millies made. They are definitely a scarce item.

Finally got my hands on one of the non-anodized versions (just posted about this find in the cyber Monday thread)... The Ti slabs on the new version are thicker than the blue version (similar in thickness to the standard Ti Millie), and thus it's just a tad heavier than the blue version (I will verify this by weighing them). Here's some pics, sorry they're not too artsy:

Very interesting about the possible thickness change... seems that would be quite a difficult change to make in the middle of a model run.
