Anyone have any news on the blacked out Southard flipper at GV? DLC blade and Ti. A new version, perhaps?

GV = Gathering 5, a knife event in Vegas that is in its 5th year. I'll see if I can find anything on this Southard.

It's the USN Gathering 5. I saw pics on Instagram, they said it was with Spydie, labeled as Southard 2.

There's also a pic of the lock side where you can see the frame lock is coated.

I'm betting that pic is not sanctioned for release by spyderco.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

I didn't have much interest in the original, but this one needs further evaluation lol.

I bet not... I was tempted to throw the pic up for everyone to drool over, but thought better of it thinking the same sort of thing as you that Spyderco would have preferred a professional shot (a la Wouter style) to that copped phone pic.

This thread just made me daydream about a DLC/blacked out Domino. I think I may have passed out for a couple of minutes.

Still leaning on the Southard being the superior flipper... Although I must say that my pocket has been "Domin"-ated by Eric's new offering recently.

It's the FFG/leaf shape that puts the Domino over the Southard for me.

i agree with the leaf and ffg being my ideal blade, i just wish the domino had a more exciting steel like the southard.
