Hey Gang,
I just received a Navigator that I just had to have. Model Number C62GS, has G10 handle scales (no slots), and GIN-1 blade steel. I had never seen or heard of such a G10 variation.
It was evidently from old stock of a knife shop in Arizona. Does anybody know the story on this little guy. Do I have something fairly special.<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
Appreciate any expert info.
Cheers,
Jaxon

G10 Navigator
You have the original Navigator there. There were a few marked "Experimental 1 or 2" before they got the C62 moniker. I don't remember if it was 1 or 2. One was the Navigator, the other was the Pegasus.
All the Almite Navigators came later as a variation of what you already have.
They're not super rare, but they don't seem too common anymore either. I had one that I carried and used daily for better than two years, currently it's with a friend who's in South Africa. The G-10 handles made it nice and light, perfect for the design. It has a great handle and yet isn't so big as to scare most people. The only thing that was scary about mine was how sharp you could get it.
Sal said something a few months back on reviving the design in the future, so this book may not be closed yet.

Congratulations on your new (though old) fine knife.
